I have never written about vaccines on my blog. I’m not one to get into the vaccine debate unless it’s forcing people to feel like they should be vaccinated. Or, actually forcing people to vaccinate. Let me clearly state right now—I do not judge you if you choose to vaccinate. That’s not what this is about. This is about a very real issue of vaccine marketing. Especially the marketing campaigns that shame people for their decisions. The campaigns of vaccines or pharmaceuticals that really aren’t necessary for everyone.
Let me also state that I truly believe there is a time and place for modern medicine. I cannot discredit the goodness that has come from it. The countless people that it has saved. It is truly a miracle when used properly and well. But as with anything good, it can be abused.
While I don’t often talk about vaccinations, I do talk a lot about viruses. I even created a course about them. As an herbalist, it’s my duty to educate others efficiently and truthfully. So then I see a mass marketing plan in place about something that’s not natural, I speak about it. In this post, I hope to open your eyes to the vaccination industry that is lustfully in bed with the pharmaceutical and media industry. I’m not here to convince you of anything. I’m not here to tell you not to get vaccinated. I’m really just here to present the facts and then allow you to think for yourself. Ultimately, there is no judgment here whether you vaccinate or don’t vaccinate. But there is a very real issue at hand with money, vaccines, and fear tactics.
In this post, I’m breaking down all of this info a few different ways. First, the link between vaccinations and the fear mongering of modern media. We’ll look at some of the viruses and bacteria we are NOT vaccinated against, and I challenge you to ask the question “why aren’t we afraid of those?”
Next, I’m going to walk through some viruses you’ve probably never heard about (or maybe you have). Viruses and bacteria that killed a lot of people, that don’t get talked about today. Viruses and bacteria that still happen, or don’t. It’s going to be a really interesting read. I hope you enjoy it. When I originally started this post, it started as a social media post. But I knew once I had quadrupled the character limit, I’d better blog it.
Connecting Fear of Viruses/Bacteria and Vaccination Marketing
It’s interesting to know that there are literally thousands of viruses and bacteria within your body every single day. This is how your body’s microbiome works—like it’s own little ecosystem. Your body is doing what it was created to do. In fact, it is thought that if viruses didn’t exist, your microbiome would be so incomplete that your immune system would fail. It all goes hand in hand. Everything works together. What happens when you get sick is a rarity, in fact, when you think of how many times you have not gotten sick simply because you had a virus within your body. Thousands of times you should have been sick, but you were not. So, by that standard, virus survival rates in and of themselves are extremely high.
Stress, lack of nutrition, personal hygiene, and co-morbidities are often what contribute to lowered and dysfunctional immune system. The immune system works two different ways—fighting off viruses and bacterias, and remembering them so that it can fight them more efficiently the next time.
Fear is what drives a lot of people though, when it comes to viruses and bacteria, and it shouldn’t be surprising that corporations cash in on that. If they didn’t, they’d be horrible salesmen. I remember when the corporations began blatantly talking about their need to market the recent SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in order to get more vaccinations. It was like watching a sales pitch right before my eyes, but most people didn’t recognize it. I did, because I’v been in the media industry my entire life. But, I digress.
Here is a recent clip of a news interview, where the woman being interviewed clearly says that opening the United States of America back up is literally the dangling carrot in front of the America people. If they get a vaccination, they get their freedoms back.
So, let’s dive in a bit more—are there viruses that we have, or have had, that don’t have vaccinations? Of course there are!

We are not vaccinated against these, or the thousands of other infectious diseases that begin with the letters D through Z. There are literally THOUSANDS. Many of these are simple, they don’t have high death rates. But some do, and it’s amazing that we aren’t more terrified of them.
Take leprosy for instance. It has since been renamed Hansen’s disease, because the medical community believes that people fear the word leprosy. The reason you don’t fear leprosy is not only because they have changed the name, but also because there is no vaccine for leprosy. There’s nothing to market to the masses. There’s no money to be made here.
The combined world wide cases of leprosy (or Hansen’s disease) is over 20,000 people each year. But two to three million people are affected by leprosy bacteria worldwide. That’s a pretty big deal. The United States has about 250 to 300 cases each year, and there are growing concerns for larger outbreaks.
Don’t you think it’s weird that there was hysteria over 140 measles cases in the last few years (especially within Jewish communities), but you hear exactly ZERO about 200 cases of leprosy? Why are measles outbreaks with the same amount of people more confrontational and breaking news than leprosy outbreaks? Why are we seeing marketing campaigns for the MMR vaccine but no one talks about leprosy?
I’ll tell you why. Because there’s no vaccine for leprosy. You are afraid of what we vaccinate for because these illnesses with vaccines are hyped up all of the time. It’s propaganda. You are told what to fear, so they can then sell you an alleged solution. That’s not conspiracy. It makes sense if you read it again. Why wouldn’t they market it if there’s a “cure”.
Measles, COVID, and others are a concern for you because you are told that you should be concerned. But you don’t walk around fearing leprosy or the bubonic plague. Your children haven’t contracted it either. You’re not advocating for the eradication of leprosy or the bubonic plague. Funny how that all works, isn’t it? What about the H1N1 virus? Remember that marketing campaign? And then poof, it was gone.
In fact, the measles had already been steeply declining in America before the vaccine ever came on the scene. This was due to the lifelong immunity that people had once they got the measles, and the antibiodies mother’s passed onto their children. Because this is how smart the human body is. But, we decided that wasn’t good enough or fast enough, so we made a vaccine for a virus that was already healing. That’s normally how that works with viruses, because they already have the answer, because our bodies have already done the work.
But the reality is that we do not have lifelong immunity anymore with the MMR vaccine. The CDC will tell you that it is, but it is not. When I had my first son, I was tested (just as most are) and discovered that I no longer had immunity to measles, mumps, or rubella. So why is the media industry blaming parents who choose not to vaccinate their kids, when the truth is that MOST of us are walking around as adults with zero immunity to MMR? Are you following me yet? Why aren’t we talking about these things?
The “rising cases” of MMR in the United States aren’t because of families that choose not to vaccinate. It’s because we messed it up when we decided lifelong immunity from contracting measles wasn’t good enough. And eventually, it will come full circle. By the way, no one has ever died of measles. Measles doesn’t kill anyone. Secondary infections are what kill people, and most often it’s pneumonia. This is why in herbalism, we stress preventing secondary infections.
The only diseases we fear are the ones that a vaccine has been developed and marketed for, period. We never feared measles and mumps, or rubella, in the early 20th century…we don’t fear diseases that the media doesn’t tell us about (which you’ll see below). So why do we fear it now? Because it’s what the media and vaccine companies tell us to do.
I declined the MMR shot at the hospital when I delivered my first son. The nurse chased me around the room telling me that I would kill any babies that I had if I contracted rubella while I was pregnant. I was in tears, crying. A brand new mother who just wanted to go home with her new baby, but the nurse would literally not let me leave the room without getting the vaccine. I was devastated. This is not healthcare, this is a forced ideology of healthcare.
Pandemics, Epidemics, and Outbreaks Over the Last 50 Years
One of the things I always enjoy telling my herbal students about is the fact that many infectious diseases are never even heard of. And if they are, they aren’t talked about in context. For example, did you know that most infectious diseases were already on the decline before vaccines came on the scene? This was due to very broad marketing campaigns about personal hygiene. It also helped that there was greater access to running water, electricity, and healthcare. As cities increased, so did these amenities, which caused illnesses to decrease. That’s science, and you can take it to the bank.
There are plenty of viruses that have come and gone simply because we left them alone. This is either due to not knowing they existed at the time and allowing nature to do its thing, or simply because of achieving natural herd immunity without tampering. Oh, by the way, medical professionals have gone back on what they’ve said for CENTURIES about herd immunity. During the COVID pandemic, they (specifically the World Health Organization) said that herd immunity was only achievable via a vaccine. But for decades and centuries, they’ve said it is attainable through a population getting a disease. Are they saying science was wrong, or are they, too, playing you into the vaccine marketing campaign?
It’s important to remember that viruses and bacteria kill people. People die. But the outcome of natural herd immunity and lifelong immunity is more beneficial for future generations. It is never easy to accept that fact, but nature often does its own “survival of the fittest” in every single species. It’s similar to homesteaders and farmers who have livestock. If you want the healthiest livestock, you look for the ones that are disease resistant. Otherwise, the species would overtake the natural ecosystems that are in place and you’d have a world full of sick animals. We are seeing this now with humans, but for the sake of not sounding rude, I’ll save that convo for those closest to me. Let’s get onto those other viruses.
Black Death—Bubonic Plague (the most deadly pandemic in history)
The mask photo above has significant meaning to the plague. These masks were worn because people believed in the miasma theory of infectious disease. This means that they believed people got sick from smelling bad smells. We of course know now that this just isn’t true, but think of how ridiculous they all must have looked believing this theory. Once again, science failed, and here we are in the 21st century no longer terrified of the world’s deadliest pandemic in history, and yet, essentially, repeating the same mistakes.
Each year, we still have about 1,000 cases of bubonic plague. According to the CDC website, that number is much higher, but no one reports them. Isn’t that incredible? The bubonic plague is a serious infection of the lymphatic system, which is caused by bacteria called Yersinia pestis (Y. pestis). Plague is a zoonotic disease affecting rodents and transmitted by fleas from rodents to other animals and to humans. Direct person-to-person transmission does not occur except in the case of pneumonic plague, when respiratory droplets may transfer the infection from the patient to others in close contact. Without prompt and effective treatment, 50–60% of cases of bubonic plague are fatal, while untreated septicaemic and pneumonic plague are invariably fatal. [World Health Organization, WHO]
Can you imagine a disease where the fatality rate is 50-60%? While the argument is strong that Bubonic Plague is not as easily transmitted as some other viruses and bacteria, what if that’s just a marketing ploy, too? If the plague can be spread through respiratory droplets due to pneumonia, why haven’t we had mass vaccinations worldwide? Don’t those 1,000 people matter? Why doesn’t the outbreak reach breaking news headlines? Oh right, because there’s no vaccine.
Over the years the plague death rate has decreased to about 11% due to modern antibiotics and medical attention. But still, that’s an extremely high death rate. Ten times higher than the current SARS-CoV-2 death rate. So what’s another reason we aren’t scared? Because it has been left to do it’s own thing. It’s not mutating into bacterial variants because we aren’t trying to play God with vaccinations and drug resistance.
HIV/AIDS Pandemic
Did you know that we are still in an HIV/AIDS pandemic? I’ll spare you all the details, as many are aware of HIV/AIDS, but we don’t fear it. And why not? Almost 1-million people die from HIV/AIDS every single year. And yet, there isn’t a huge marketing campaign on your tv screen every single day trying to scare you about it. Why? Because there’s no vaccine. In the least, shouldn’t they be telling people to practice safe sex, and stop injecting needles into their bodies? Shouldn’t they tell people to be careful with blood, or if they see blood somewhere to walk away? Shouldn’t we have some huge marketing campaign about how you can get HIV from toilet seats with blood or bodily fluids on them? No? We don’t fear HIV/AIDS, at least most of us don’t, because we haven’t been told to fear it.
Marburg Virus
The following information is taken from the World Health Organization (WHO) website itself. Marburg virus disease is a highly virulent disease that causes haemorrhagic fever, with a fatality ratio of up to 88%. It is in the same family as the virus that causes Ebola virus disease. Two large outbreaks that occurred simultaneously in Marburg and Frankfurt in Germany, and in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1967, led to the initial recognition of the disease. The outbreak was associated with laboratory work using African green monkeys (Cercopithecus aethiops) imported from Uganda. Subsequently, outbreaks and sporadic cases have been reported in Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, South Africa (in a person with recent travel history to Zimbabwe) and Uganda. In 2008, two independent cases were reported in travelers who visited a cave inhabited by Rousettus bat colonies in Uganda. [Marburg Virus Disease, WHO]
You would think that a virus with an 88% fatality rate would get some pretty good publicity. This is a virus I’d be greatly concerned about if it were all over the news. But it’s not. Why? Because there isn’t a vaccine. All it takes is one large outbreak to wipe out 88% of the population on earth. And you thought the SARS-CoV-2 fatality rate of 2% (though some argue it’s less than that) was really bad? Over 97% of the population in the entire world will recover from SARS-CoV-2. Remember that as we talk about more viruses.
Hong Kong Flu (1968 H3N2 Virus)
The 1968 pandemic was caused by an influenza A (H3N2) virus comprised of two genes from an avian influenza. It was first noted in the United States in September 1968. The estimated number of deaths was 1 million worldwide and about 100,000 in the United States. Most excess deaths were in people 65 years and older. The H3N2 virus continues to circulate worldwide as a seasonal influenza A virus. [1968 Pandemic H3N2 Virus, CDC]
Isn’t it funny how most of our parents or grandparents didn’t even know this was a thing back then? Did you know the ever popular Woodstock music festival took place during this time? No masks. No vaccines. No fear. Why? Because there wasn’t a vaccine. There still isn’t a vaccine. And we don’t care that 1-million people died because of this virus in 1968. Here we are, living life without fear of H3N2 because someone didn’t tell us to be scared of it.
Do you know what’s even better? This virus still circulates today. It’s just not as bad because we’ve, once again, achieved natural herd immunity (the way life was created to be), in order to achieve better genes, better antibodies, and ultimately, better health. How did we achieve this? Because there’s no vaccine. Why aren’t we afraid of it? Because there’s no vaccine.
Another influenza example is the 1957-1958 H2N2 variant. The estimated number of deaths was 2-million worldwide and 116,000 in the United States. Again, we don’t fear it.
The 1918 Spanish Flu (H1N1)
Coming in at the number two spot of the worlds most deadly pandemics, we have the 1918 influenza pandemic. The 1918 influenza pandemic was the most severe pandemic in recent history. It was caused by an H1N1 virus with genes of avian origin. Although there is not universal consensus regarding where the virus originated, it spread worldwide during 1918-1919. In the United States, it was first identified in military personnel in spring 1918. It is estimated that about 500 million people, or one-third of the world’s population, became infected with this virus. The number of deaths was estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide with about 675,000 occurring in the United States. [The 1918 Influenza Pandemic, CDC]
Just as in the 21st century, plenty of people fought mask mandates and public health restrictions during the Spanish flu. Are you seeing a trend yet?
My favorite tidbit of information about the Spanish flu is that modern medicine actually made it worse. Have we learned nothing? Aspirin was a newer pharmaceutical in the medical industry. People in 1918 feared the Spanish influenza because, you guessed it, big pharm wanted everyone taking aspirin. The world population was once again the corporate guinea pig. Sound anything like 2020/2021?
Aspirin actually made the H1N1 pandemic worse, here’s how…
High aspirin dosing levels used to treat patients during the 1918-1919 pandemic are now known to cause, in some cases, toxicity and a dangerous build up of fluid in the lungs, which may have contributed to the incidence and severity of symptoms, bacterial infections, and mortality. Additionally, autopsy reports from 1918 are consistent with what we know today about the dangers of aspirin toxicity, as well as the expected viral causes of death.
The motivation behind the improper use of aspirin is a cautionary tale, said author Karen Starko, MD. In 1918, physicians did not fully understand either the dosing or pharmacology of aspirin, yet they were willing to recommend it. Its use was promoted by the drug industry, endorsed by doctors wanting to “do something,” and accepted by families and institutions desperate for hope. [Science Daily, Aspirin Misuse May Have Made 1918 Flu Pandemic Worse]
One of the biggest reasons doctors were told to avoid aspirin and ibuprofen during the 2020/2021 SARS-CoV-2 outbreak was for this same exact reason. Yet these same doctors recommend you take aspirin on a daily basis to prevent heart attacks or strokes. But a recent 2019 study disproved that and shows that aspirin does more harm than good for the human body. The study showed that aspirin use was associated with 43% of major bleeding events, compared to those who did not take it, and approximately one in 200 people treated with aspirin would have a major bleed. That’s a risk you shouldn’t be willing to take.
The media tried to push the H1N1 vaccine during the 2009 H1N1 outbreak, but it failed greatly. Many families simply weren’t in-tune to the media at the time. During a recession in the United States, individuals also didn’t have the means to become vaccinated. Therefore, the push ended abruptly, and so did the pandemic. Overall, it is believed that up to 500,000 people died from the virus during the 2009 pandemic. But I remember that pandemic, and it was absolutely nothing. No people walking around with masks. No one triggered by your right to choose a vaccine or not.
Now, the H1N1 variant is sometimes included in the yearly influenza vaccine. Unfortunately, this vaccine does not have a very high percentage rate when it comes to efficacy. We are also discovering that the influenza vaccine itself, is causing people to become more susceptible to various other respiratory conditions and viruses.
So, Now What?
Here’s the reality, friend. Virus pandemics happen more often than we care to admit. People die. They will continue to die, because that’s how the world was created to act and react. You have a greater chance of survival if you are fit, healthy, and active, and if you implement herbalism and natural remedies into your life. Though, it’s not guaranteed health for everyone. But you can start right now, today, by making better choices for yourself and your family.
Learn how these viruses work. Learn how the human body works. With knowledge and education comes empowerment. You do not have to be a doctor in order to understand the basics of infectious disease. I can help you here.
Furthermore, I hope that by now you’ve noticed the very real connection of fear that is in the world, but especially America, when it comes to viral outbreaks and vaccines. We have viral out breaks every single year, but the only ones that make major headlines are the ones that have vaccines available. It’s the biggest marketing ploy known to man. And I think it’s time to follow the money and understand how the vaccine and media industry are working together.
Stay healthy. Stay vigilant.

Thank you!!! Awesome analogy! I’m so sick of this mental abuse to everyone!
Thank you, Amy. Just thank you.
Love you post so true, honest and so true. People just do not want to see what is right in front of their eyes.
Amy, I love how you speak your opinion. That is why I love reading what you write. I even show my hubby your articles, he enjoys your material (he may be slightly biased being a VA native too) You do great research, and put it out there without “forcing” it upon people.
I hope I can say this without causing too much controversy, which I generally avoid with all social media; Once you realise that the vaccine was not brought in for Covid, but Covid brought in for the vaccine it all begins to make sense.
Great write up! If CDC and WHO were really concerned about the worlds health they would take the protective laws away from corporations that produce cigarettes, medications and a large percent of “ingredients” allowed in foods that kill so many every day.
Excellent article- common sense! Thank you.
Thank you for putting this information together. I keep trying to tell those who fear COVID that the data doesn’t support the fear campaign. Take TB for example. Although not a “virus” it is bacterial infection, and a million ppl die of it EVERY year. Why are we not closing business and social distancing? Why are we not frantically searching for a vaccine? In fact the first time I ever heard about TB was when I started my nurses aide course and had to be tested before my clinical schooling portion. On top of that when we had an outbreak in the nursing home, we didn’t shut the world down. We shut the home down, tripled gloves, gowning, masking hand washing etc. It seems to me there is a campaign to remove the elderly from our society; with the reaction I’m seeing in the homes, far removed from normal proper protocol when dealing with an infectious disease. We have abandoned reason and logic, and been given over to a depraved mind.
I’ll be unfollowing you after this. I work in a large funeral home in my state. I’ve seen the devastation of the virus and what it does to families in its wake. I’ve got friends that have suffered effects of it after testing negative for the virus. I’m 100% in favor of the vaccine to prevent this. In fact, I’ve had both my shots. My husband is getting ready to schedule his own. I encourage others to do so.
I listen to the SCIENTISTS and DOCTORS. People who have gone to school and have much higher, fancier, expensive degrees than you or I have. Not peoples’ opinions when they hunt out “researched” conspiracy theories.
I was honestly interested in the herbalism here, but …. I can’t support a blog like this. Opinions do not replace actual genuine medical knowledge. Unless you have a medical degree tucked away somewhere, I’ll be listening to the ACTUAL experts.
Thanks. Be well.
Actually, I did study infectious disease as part of my herbalism training. Just because someone doesn’t have a doctorate, doesn’t mean they aren’t educated. But, if you only want to listen to people who have doctorates, then I would encourage you to look at the literal THOUSANDS of doctors also stating what I am stating, instead of listening to the mainstream media. You, yourself, might learn something.
Bless your fearful, deceived little heart. 🤦♀️ I am a nurse practitioner and I hate to break the news to you but the MDs and the “experts” have no idea. I hope you grow some critical thinking skills. The “experts” are wrong A LOT of the time. The pHARMAceutical companies own the “experts” the “experts” benefit financially from their relationship with the pHARMaceutical companies. You clearly have faulty logic and an extremely lack of true knowledge of the issues.
And you missed the very relevant messages of this post. Smh.
Best write up on the topic I’ve read. It’s such an emotionally charged issue it’s hard to find someone who keeps a level head. Thank you!
I hope you are taking heed with the surge of the Delta variant worldwide amongst the unvaccinated. Blogs such as this are reprehensible. You are not an infectious disease expert, a virologist or immunologist. Stay in your lane of herbology. The families of millions dead worldwide don’t consider it fearmongering. CoVid-19 long haulers wish they had had an opportunity to vaccinate prior to becoming seriously ill. Herd immunity is a pipe dream at this point. You are contributing to the rise in cases/deaths nationwide. Shame on you.
Your comment is laughable. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that COVID is spreading via vaccinated people groups. It’s comments like yours that are reprehensible, uneducated, and that are causing a rise in cases/deaths nationwide. Shame on you.
What an amazing article! Thank you so much . I am not antivax at all ( I just went through rabies treatment…17 shots:( I am sorry but something about this covid vaccine is just not normal. I am following my gut instinct on this one. When I get sick I always go for the herbs first and 98% of the time they work. Also like you said about stress and eating right helps to keep you healthy, A lot of unatural medicines out there are just bandaids and oh my gosh the side effects!!!! My husband got covid so bad I had to call an ambulance….he went with the infusion and got better right away (that was back in April) well in Sept he went ahead and got the vaccine (because of his job Travels A LOT) and he was sick for a week with covid like symptoms…. neadless to say he did not get the boosters. He should have never gotten the vaccine……but because of his job:( Anyway once again great article and you have a wonderful day:)
This is such a great article. Articulate and straight forward. Also thank you for responding to those who are trying to spread fear and untruths. It is lack of education and research that makes things so much harder. Since when is the mainstream media the experts. Smh
