Soft and Chewy Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 1/2 cups flour unbleached
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

Method:

  • Cream butter and sugar in a bowl or your stand mixer until fluffy and mixed well.
  • Add eggs and vanilla to butter and sugar mixture, mix well.
  • Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined and smooth.
  • Pre-heat oven to 350.
  • Remove dough from the bowl and place in plastic wrap. Chill for 1 to 3 hours.
  • Roll dough onto a floured or sugared surface, about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into cookies.
  • Place cookies onto a cookie sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes. Cookies should look only slightly undone before removing from the oven.
  • Allow to cool on a cooling rack, then drizzle with icing glaze.
