When the”New” Internet Takes Over

August 1, 2023 · In: devotional, homesteading

As I sit here writing this in the year 2023, I still find it hard to believe how our world currently looks. If you had asked me ten years ago what the world would look like right now, I certainly wouldn’t have said this. And yet, it’s not surprising in the least bit.

But instead of wasting my time talking about the woes of current society, I challenge you to walk through this post with me with eyes wide open and a mind that is understanding. Because what you’re going to hear is a trumpet cry—something is coming, and we need to have a hard talk.

Anyone who reads this post won’t be able to walk away saying “no one told me”, because I’m here to tell you. It is my duty to sound a warning call, and I hope you heed it.

The next seven years on this earth are crucial, and you’re about to find out why. It’s all hands on deck. We don’t have time to play house anymore. The clock is about to run out. It’s not fear mongering, it’s the truth you need to hear. And I’m here to share it with you because I feel the strong drawing of the Holy Spirit to prepare people for more than just growing their own food.

The New Internet & Going Dark

Last week the creator of AI ChatGPT, Sam Altman, released a trial run of several things. The first thing was his creation called the “orb”. This creation scans the iris of your eye to verify your identity. The word “verify” is the new thing. In fact, AI’s job is to verify in every way. It has been collecting information about you since the early 2000’s whether you’ve agreed to it or not. When you use the internet, you submit to implied consent.

Implied consent is consent which is not expressly granted by a person, but rather implicitly granted by a person’s actions and the facts and circumstances of a particular situation. –Wikipedia

Altman’s goal is to create a brand new internet. An internet that you cannot be a part of unless you are completely verified. This is where his orbs come into play. He also released WorldCoin. What is WorldCoin? Glad you asked…

Worldcoin aims to establish universal access to the global economy regardless of country or background. It is designed to become the world’s largest human identity and financial network, giving ownership to everyone. All with the intention of welcoming every person on the planet and establishing a place for all of us to benefit in the age of AI. —worldcoin.org

Facebook, Instagram, and other apps have been rolling out verification for years. You may remember that there was a big kurfluffle as to whether or not people should paid for a verified badge or not. When asked to verify yourself, private individuals have to send in a copy of their license. Businesses can send in a copy of their articles of organization.

In the grand scheme of things, those verification processes mean nothing. It is just tailoring the world to look for “verified” people. I have a verification badge, but only because I know what’s coming. And what’s coming is this—one day, I won’t have the internet anymore, and I need to get this message out.

We have reached a crucial time in history when it is our duty to sound the last trumpet before the people who truly have a good voice go dark online. The main goal of the powers-that-be is to truly silence goodness. Mostly, Goodness with a capital “g”. God knows this, and if you really sit back and pay attention, you will come to understand that He has been preparing His people for this all along. This is the moment. This is the time. And the next seven years are all hands on deck. It’s time for us to finish strong.

Homesteading and the church have always gone hand-in-hand. You almost cannot have one without the other; not during this day and age. But for those who are Christians, I need your ear the most, because your communities need your grace and understanding.

If your business is online.

If your entire livelihood is based on the internet.

If your structure to reach our local community is online based.

You will be shut down if you do not submit to verification with palm or iris scans when this releases years down the road. This is a completely different verification than submitting your driver’s license to a company—considering companies can get your information fairly easily from an online search if they want to. This is ultra-personal. This is your personal stamp, because no palm or iris are the same. This is the final step, other than offering up your blood DNA.

But hear me clearly—this objective has begun, and it will more than likely not be stopped. We know that the Great Reset is scheduled to roll out in 2030. They will keep that timeframe, and this is the beginning of it all.

A verified world through DNA and body scans. The only people allowed on the internet are those verified. Yes, the entire internet. This means no Facebook marketplace for you. No more farm website to sell herdshares and whole chickens. No more surfing Pinterest for home decor ideas (unless apps have their own personal non-verified options). This is it. This is how they shut down those who build from a place of conviction and a homesteading lifestyle.

It means no more substack for you to read when I have something witty or spiritual to share. It means no more herbalism course for you to learn from. It means no way to market and promote the Homesteaders of America conference each year. It means no way for you to buy online tickets. It means no back up plan for a weekly newsletter to your email inbox, because that’s part of the internet too.

I won’t be here. Many of us won’t be here. We’ll live in a world where we have every way possible to communicate with someone, but we won’t be allowed to use it unless we’re verified.

It will go into our stores and our banks.

So what now? Where will your income derive from? How will you communicate with your clients and customers? How will you preach the gospel? How will you keep up with your extended family? How will you learn about gardening and homesteading? How will you survive with no ability to access your cash at the bank?

They’ve tried this already, friends. Remember, if you were “non-essential”, you weren’t allowed to travel in 2020. And if you didn’t receive the “you know what”, you lost your job or were forced to quit. Don’t believe for a minute that I’ve lost my mind—I’ve simply found it.

I love this quote from Revivalist Smith Wigglesworth, where he says,

“Divine wisdom will never make you foolish.
Divine wisdom will give you a sound mind.”

–Smith Wigglesworth

I truly believe the Lord has shown what’s coming to many believers, myself included, so that we can tell others to prepare now. There is so much more to this story, but this is the part I feel burning inside of me to tell you. Maybe you, too, have had your own personal experience with the Lord showing you what’s to come. If so, don’t fear it. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Fear Him, not this world. And when we have fear and reverence for Him, He will direct our steps.

So this is me preparing you, and encouraging you to start taking the next steps, now.

So, What’s Next?

Before you consider what your next steps are, you need to stop and pray. If we truly believe that God is Who He says He is, then we know that His Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, all around us, and and even rest on us. If you are a true believer in Christ, it is absolutely crucial that you get into the presence of God, daily, and be so close to Him that you know His voice, without a doubt. A five minute prayer before bed will not work. God sacrificed for us, the least we can do is give Him more of our time. Not just for Him, but also for us.

Discernment will be important in the coming days, weeks, and years. Stay close to the Shepherd.

Do not make any decisions rooted in fear of this world. Do not make any decisions rooted in the fear of the unknown. These are foolish decisions. Seek His wisdom and direction, and the Holy Spirit will absolutely give it to you. But also, He will surround you with people who will also speak life into you.

First, it is extremely important over these next few years to get your house in order. Spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

Next, it is extremely important to cultivate some kind of food source for you and your family. If you have some land and can grow food, that’s great. If that is your desire and you’re looking for land, hold onto that promise. God has something for you. If you have no desire to move and feel God has placed you in the city, don’t worry, He has a plan for you too. But still, cultivating your food source is crucial, and you should begin getting all of your food locally from a homesteader or farmer.

After this, remember that this isn’t just about you and your family. There is a broader plan here, and you can use it to your advantage.

If you have a productive homestead or farm, and you have the ability to feed more than just your family, you may consider this as an income opportunity. From there, reach deep into your community over these next few years to cultivate relationship through phone calls, texts, and meet ups with your customers and potential customers. Your best customers are your neighbors. Share your heart with them, and help them cultivate their local food source through you.

You’ll quickly find that you can fill their needs while they fill yours—food and income without internet.

Maybe you don’t want the farm to be super productive so you can sell your goods. What about skills? Could you be a teacher of these skills? Could you offer a trade to others? What do people know you for and as? If they know you are skilled in something and all they have to do is pick up the phone to call you, you once again are providing a service that also benefits you without the internet.

You see where I’m going with this, and I think you can take it from here for your individual life and family.

As for the body of Christ, this is your time to shine. Building the kingdom physically and Spiritually is crucial right now. Use discernment. Begin cultivating your church community around you. Help your church cultivate its own community, that then breaks out into smaller communities that will depend on each other and help one another.

Most importantly, become a friend of God. Dwell with Him. Allow Him to refine you. Talk to Him. Let Him speak to you. Let Him burn up any impurity in your life, especially pride. Allow Him to teach you how to love people, because you’re going to need a lot of love, mercy, and grace in the coming years.

It is not about self-sufficiency. It is about building His kingdom. That’s what it’s always been about. It has always been about servanthood. God always prepares a place for His remnant before they need it. And the homesteading movement is steadily being used to create a modern day Goshen.

Do not be confused, His remnant is Israel. But as of today, ten of those tribes of Israel are still scattered throughout the earth, and must return to Israel before His return. Likewise, saved Gentiles (like most of us) are grafted into the Body. We still play a major role in this. And let’s not forget Psalm 91 that says “he who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” As it goes on to say that He is our refuge and of our fortress, and He will keep us safe through it all if we ABIDE in Him. Remember, I wrote about abiding in Him in this post recently.

25 As He says also in Hosea:

“I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
26 “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.
28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

29 And as Isaiah said before:

“Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,
We would have become like Sodom,
And we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

ROMANS 9:25-29

The question is, are you ready? Are you ready to do the hard work to prepare? Do not prepare in vain—but in joy. Joy that God loves us enough to give us this warning. That God loves us so much as to knit so many of us together in physical communities so we can depend on Him and one another. Do you know how many people are being uprooted and physically moved to other places this year? Especially to homesteads and farms. It is not a coincidence, friends.

I encourage you, no matter where you live or what you believe, heed the call. The trumpet is blowing, and now it’s time to act. What will you do? Will you take it seriously? Or will you turn back to look just as Lot’s wife did?

Something is coming. God knew it. God has been preparing for it for as long as the forces of darkness have been planning it. And God always wins. Always.

Sometimes you’ll hear people say “I have good frie Sometimes you’ll hear people say “I have good friends”. But recently I have found myself saying “I have steadfast friends”.

The definition of someone who is steadfast means to be resolutely firm, loyal, and unwavering in your beliefs, actions, or loyalty. A steadfast person is reliable, stays focused on their purpose, and refuses to give up or change their mind, even when faced with difficult circumstances.

To be a steadfast friend means you have a mission and purpose, and you don’t waver from it. That purpose is the kingdom of Yahweh.

For the last 5 to 10 years I have had a fluid group of friends. Some come and some go. But there is a core group that has remained through it all. The enemy has tried to divide and conquer. And sometimes we still have to realize this. But yet, here we are…steadfast.

Sometimes we pick at each other, get mad at each other, assume or think wrongly. Sometimes we don’t talk for a week. Sometimes we talk everyday. But here’s the truth, and I think I can say it with full confidence….

We love one another enough to praise each other when it is due, and to correct each other when it is due. To push each other to the next level, and to tell each other when to sit down and be silent. Without getting offended and storming off to find a new friend group.

It is incredibly rare, I am discovering, to see this in action. There is something beautiful about friends that see you at your worst and choose to be steadfast. No worldly judgement. When I’m lacking, they have abundance. When they are lacking, I have abundance. When they are crying, I can be strong. When I am crying, they can be strong (and some will cry with me 😆).

1 Cor 15:58 says “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

How committed are you to other people? Because the kingdom is about kinship, not friend hopping. It’s about kindred spirits, not emotional highs and lows to please the flesh.

Don’t just find good friends—find steadfast friends. And more importantly…be a steadfast friend.
If you’re trying to grow a garden while raising ba If you’re trying to grow a garden while raising babies, chasing toddlers, homeschooling, cooking meals, and keeping a home—you don’t need perfection. You need rhythms that work with your season of life.

Here are a few simple things that make gardening with little ones so much easier:

• Work the garden in the early morning or evening when the heat and sun are lower. It’s easier on your body, your plants, and your children.

• Harvest herbs and vegetables in the morning when they are most hydrated and nutrient dense. The flavor, oils, and freshness are often at their peak before the heat of the day sets in.

• Keep a kiddie pool, shaded tent, or simple play area near the garden so little ones can stay close, play safely, and still be part of what you’re building.

This is the beauty of homestead life. Children don’t always have to be separated from the work—they can grow alongside it.

The garden doesn’t just feed your family.
It disciples them too.
Three weeks ago during our Friday night fellowship Three weeks ago during our Friday night fellowship, a consistent topic or word would come forth out of the individuals sitting around the table. As I sat and listened to each one so deeply, yet differently sharing, I realized that on this night, we were all mostly saying the same thing. This is often how Jesus will work through a group of believers—bringing each one together to share in unity. But differently.

I immediately recalled Psalm 126–especially the part about weeping. How we sow with our tears but we reap in joy. How those who continually go forth weeping bear seed for sowing.

Our genuine cries do something—they produce, and they sow. It is where we can feel the burden of another. When one cries, it is contagious. But really it is the mercy of God that we feel upon us.

There is not a fellowship night that goes by anymore without someone, or multiple people now, crying. We’ve learned to embrace it. Why? Because we reap a harvest and bring our sheaves with us as we rejoice.

Each tear is a seed that sows deeply into one another. Into others. Into ourselves. Our tears have a genuineness that many things do not have. And when they are genuine, they produce great fruit.

Ever since that night, I continue to see this scripture being spoken over and over again from leader after leader. Post after post.

The Lord is stirring. He is doing something in His bride. He is calling back the captives, the dreamers, the singers. “Once again,” He says. With tears and weeping we sow, and with tears and weeping we harvest—rejoicing joyfully.
If you follow people online, you often call them a If you follow people online, you often call them an “influencer”. Let me be the one to tell you that most of us in the sphere that I am in do not consider ourselves “influencers”. Some may consider themselves teachers, leaders, ministers, and more, but the term influencer has never been something we’ve enjoyed.

The reality is this—we found ourselves in the middle of a crossroad on our timeline where someone needed to pick up a mic and speak truth in the midst of chaos. Most of us have no interest in being online at all. We wouldn’t be sad if the internet disappeared tomorrow. But we were handed that microphone, influence, and anointing to go along with it.

Don’t be fooled—it’s not because of algorithms and marketing plans. If you are succeeding in this online world or your physical sphere of influence for Jesus, it’s because you were given the open door to do so. It’s not about you. It’s about what God knows He can entrust to you for His will and kingdom.

Some people chase after people, trends, validation, recognition, and the spotlight. But can I tell you what comes along with those things? Hatred, bullying, misunderstanding, monitoring people and spirits, people lying about you, persecution—and if you’ve really made it, threats on your life and persecution.

You see, people want the influence. People want to be close to a Kingdom influencer. But if you aren’t ready to roll with the good AND bad, then you’re not ready.

Jesus was the OG influencer, and He was spit on, lied about, and killed for His influence. Follower of Jesus—you are told to prepare for the same thing in the world. No matter your influence level.

A time is coming in America where influence online won’t matter anymore, yet the outcome will remain the same. The time to prepare for that is now—spiritually and emotionally.

But take heart, dear one. He has overcome the world. I speak to believers and leaders everyday who are truly influencing to make a difference—some online, some never touching a screen.

Jesus is building His church stone by stone. Some of us have mics, some of us will never be broadly known to man. Yet the struggle is still the same. Pray for us.
This morning I made a Mother’s Day tea—this one is This morning I made a Mother’s Day tea—this one is for you, ladies!

My hormones have been all over the place as I inch closer to 40 and begin to slowly wean our little one. I’ve been snappy and know I need more nourishment. My skin has been out of sorts and, moral of the story, my body needs help. This tea is great for anyone—but it is especially healing for women.

The jar made in the reel is a concentrate (I used lots of herbs), meaning, I add about 1 cup or more (whatever you’d like) of this liquid concentrate to my pint/quart jar and fill the rest with ice and cold water. But the “amounts” would stay the same in “parts”.

If I were to add one more thing to this tea, it would be lemon balm. It is also very calming and aromatic. But since lemon balm is growing fresh right now, I add a sprig of it to each glass made with this herbal concentrate when I pour.

This blend is fabulously cooling, nourishing to the body, and especially beneficial to women of all ages.

You can add raw honey to sweeten this tea, and it is divine.

🌺 Hibiscus flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa)
An incredible antioxidant which helps support the immune system, reduces oxidative stress, and supports your health at the cellular level. It may also help with cholesterol and cardiovascular health. This is a wonderful cooling herb for summer time, peri- and regular menopause. (Use sparingly while pregnant).

🌼Chamomile
Most noted for its ability to calm, relax, and cool. It is an efficient gentle anti-inflammatory and works well for the gastrointestinal tract. It is a gentle nervine, making it ideal for the central nervous system.

🌿 Stinging Nettle
An extremely nourishing herb, it is rich in iron, magnesium, calcium, proteins, and so many minerals. Nettle is anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic. Nettle will help build strength in your body, and nourish it to its core—every system in the body is nourished by it. It is a natural antihistamine, mast cell stabilizer, and tonic.

🍃Red Raspberry Leaf
Rich in minerals and manganese. It works effectively in supporting and toning the reproductive system. It is also great for use as an antacid, hormones, heart and eye h
