When the”New” Internet Takes Over

August 1, 2023 · In: devotional, homesteading

As I sit here writing this in the year 2023, I still find it hard to believe how our world currently looks. If you had asked me ten years ago what the world would look like right now, I certainly wouldn’t have said this. And yet, it’s not surprising in the least bit.

But instead of wasting my time talking about the woes of current society, I challenge you to walk through this post with me with eyes wide open and a mind that is understanding. Because what you’re going to hear is a trumpet cry—something is coming, and we need to have a hard talk.

Anyone who reads this post won’t be able to walk away saying “no one told me”, because I’m here to tell you. It is my duty to sound a warning call, and I hope you heed it.

The next seven years on this earth are crucial, and you’re about to find out why. It’s all hands on deck. We don’t have time to play house anymore. The clock is about to run out. It’s not fear mongering, it’s the truth you need to hear. And I’m here to share it with you because I feel the strong drawing of the Holy Spirit to prepare people for more than just growing their own food.

The New Internet & Going Dark

Last week the creator of AI ChatGPT, Sam Altman, released a trial run of several things. The first thing was his creation called the “orb”. This creation scans the iris of your eye to verify your identity. The word “verify” is the new thing. In fact, AI’s job is to verify in every way. It has been collecting information about you since the early 2000’s whether you’ve agreed to it or not. When you use the internet, you submit to implied consent.

Implied consent is consent which is not expressly granted by a person, but rather implicitly granted by a person’s actions and the facts and circumstances of a particular situation. –Wikipedia

Altman’s goal is to create a brand new internet. An internet that you cannot be a part of unless you are completely verified. This is where his orbs come into play. He also released WorldCoin. What is WorldCoin? Glad you asked…

Worldcoin aims to establish universal access to the global economy regardless of country or background. It is designed to become the world’s largest human identity and financial network, giving ownership to everyone. All with the intention of welcoming every person on the planet and establishing a place for all of us to benefit in the age of AI. —worldcoin.org

Facebook, Instagram, and other apps have been rolling out verification for years. You may remember that there was a big kurfluffle as to whether or not people should paid for a verified badge or not. When asked to verify yourself, private individuals have to send in a copy of their license. Businesses can send in a copy of their articles of organization.

In the grand scheme of things, those verification processes mean nothing. It is just tailoring the world to look for “verified” people. I have a verification badge, but only because I know what’s coming. And what’s coming is this—one day, I won’t have the internet anymore, and I need to get this message out.

We have reached a crucial time in history when it is our duty to sound the last trumpet before the people who truly have a good voice go dark online. The main goal of the powers-that-be is to truly silence goodness. Mostly, Goodness with a capital “g”. God knows this, and if you really sit back and pay attention, you will come to understand that He has been preparing His people for this all along. This is the moment. This is the time. And the next seven years are all hands on deck. It’s time for us to finish strong.

Homesteading and the church have always gone hand-in-hand. You almost cannot have one without the other; not during this day and age. But for those who are Christians, I need your ear the most, because your communities need your grace and understanding.

If your business is online.

If your entire livelihood is based on the internet.

If your structure to reach our local community is online based.

You will be shut down if you do not submit to verification with palm or iris scans when this releases years down the road. This is a completely different verification than submitting your driver’s license to a company—considering companies can get your information fairly easily from an online search if they want to. This is ultra-personal. This is your personal stamp, because no palm or iris are the same. This is the final step, other than offering up your blood DNA.

But hear me clearly—this objective has begun, and it will more than likely not be stopped. We know that the Great Reset is scheduled to roll out in 2030. They will keep that timeframe, and this is the beginning of it all.

A verified world through DNA and body scans. The only people allowed on the internet are those verified. Yes, the entire internet. This means no Facebook marketplace for you. No more farm website to sell herdshares and whole chickens. No more surfing Pinterest for home decor ideas (unless apps have their own personal non-verified options). This is it. This is how they shut down those who build from a place of conviction and a homesteading lifestyle.

It means no more substack for you to read when I have something witty or spiritual to share. It means no more herbalism course for you to learn from. It means no way to market and promote the Homesteaders of America conference each year. It means no way for you to buy online tickets. It means no back up plan for a weekly newsletter to your email inbox, because that’s part of the internet too.

I won’t be here. Many of us won’t be here. We’ll live in a world where we have every way possible to communicate with someone, but we won’t be allowed to use it unless we’re verified.

It will go into our stores and our banks.

So what now? Where will your income derive from? How will you communicate with your clients and customers? How will you preach the gospel? How will you keep up with your extended family? How will you learn about gardening and homesteading? How will you survive with no ability to access your cash at the bank?

They’ve tried this already, friends. Remember, if you were “non-essential”, you weren’t allowed to travel in 2020. And if you didn’t receive the “you know what”, you lost your job or were forced to quit. Don’t believe for a minute that I’ve lost my mind—I’ve simply found it.

I love this quote from Revivalist Smith Wigglesworth, where he says,

“Divine wisdom will never make you foolish.
Divine wisdom will give you a sound mind.”

–Smith Wigglesworth

I truly believe the Lord has shown what’s coming to many believers, myself included, so that we can tell others to prepare now. There is so much more to this story, but this is the part I feel burning inside of me to tell you. Maybe you, too, have had your own personal experience with the Lord showing you what’s to come. If so, don’t fear it. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Fear Him, not this world. And when we have fear and reverence for Him, He will direct our steps.

So this is me preparing you, and encouraging you to start taking the next steps, now.

So, What’s Next?

Before you consider what your next steps are, you need to stop and pray. If we truly believe that God is Who He says He is, then we know that His Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, all around us, and and even rest on us. If you are a true believer in Christ, it is absolutely crucial that you get into the presence of God, daily, and be so close to Him that you know His voice, without a doubt. A five minute prayer before bed will not work. God sacrificed for us, the least we can do is give Him more of our time. Not just for Him, but also for us.

Discernment will be important in the coming days, weeks, and years. Stay close to the Shepherd.

Do not make any decisions rooted in fear of this world. Do not make any decisions rooted in the fear of the unknown. These are foolish decisions. Seek His wisdom and direction, and the Holy Spirit will absolutely give it to you. But also, He will surround you with people who will also speak life into you.

First, it is extremely important over these next few years to get your house in order. Spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

Next, it is extremely important to cultivate some kind of food source for you and your family. If you have some land and can grow food, that’s great. If that is your desire and you’re looking for land, hold onto that promise. God has something for you. If you have no desire to move and feel God has placed you in the city, don’t worry, He has a plan for you too. But still, cultivating your food source is crucial, and you should begin getting all of your food locally from a homesteader or farmer.

After this, remember that this isn’t just about you and your family. There is a broader plan here, and you can use it to your advantage.

If you have a productive homestead or farm, and you have the ability to feed more than just your family, you may consider this as an income opportunity. From there, reach deep into your community over these next few years to cultivate relationship through phone calls, texts, and meet ups with your customers and potential customers. Your best customers are your neighbors. Share your heart with them, and help them cultivate their local food source through you.

You’ll quickly find that you can fill their needs while they fill yours—food and income without internet.

Maybe you don’t want the farm to be super productive so you can sell your goods. What about skills? Could you be a teacher of these skills? Could you offer a trade to others? What do people know you for and as? If they know you are skilled in something and all they have to do is pick up the phone to call you, you once again are providing a service that also benefits you without the internet.

You see where I’m going with this, and I think you can take it from here for your individual life and family.

As for the body of Christ, this is your time to shine. Building the kingdom physically and Spiritually is crucial right now. Use discernment. Begin cultivating your church community around you. Help your church cultivate its own community, that then breaks out into smaller communities that will depend on each other and help one another.

Most importantly, become a friend of God. Dwell with Him. Allow Him to refine you. Talk to Him. Let Him speak to you. Let Him burn up any impurity in your life, especially pride. Allow Him to teach you how to love people, because you’re going to need a lot of love, mercy, and grace in the coming years.

It is not about self-sufficiency. It is about building His kingdom. That’s what it’s always been about. It has always been about servanthood. God always prepares a place for His remnant before they need it. And the homesteading movement is steadily being used to create a modern day Goshen.

Do not be confused, His remnant is Israel. But as of today, ten of those tribes of Israel are still scattered throughout the earth, and must return to Israel before His return. Likewise, saved Gentiles (like most of us) are grafted into the Body. We still play a major role in this. And let’s not forget Psalm 91 that says “he who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” As it goes on to say that He is our refuge and of our fortress, and He will keep us safe through it all if we ABIDE in Him. Remember, I wrote about abiding in Him in this post recently.

25 As He says also in Hosea:

“I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
26 “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.
28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

29 And as Isaiah said before:

“Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,
We would have become like Sodom,
And we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

ROMANS 9:25-29

The question is, are you ready? Are you ready to do the hard work to prepare? Do not prepare in vain—but in joy. Joy that God loves us enough to give us this warning. That God loves us so much as to knit so many of us together in physical communities so we can depend on Him and one another. Do you know how many people are being uprooted and physically moved to other places this year? Especially to homesteads and farms. It is not a coincidence, friends.

I encourage you, no matter where you live or what you believe, heed the call. The trumpet is blowing, and now it’s time to act. What will you do? Will you take it seriously? Or will you turn back to look just as Lot’s wife did?

Something is coming. God knew it. God has been preparing for it for as long as the forces of darkness have been planning it. And God always wins. Always.

🌾 THE MORNING AG BRIEF: What D.C. Did to Your Food 🌾 THE MORNING AG BRIEF: What D.C. Did to Your Food System This Week

Coming out of July 4th, USDA and Congress moved on beef processing, fertilizer, farm labor, and how the federal government defines "regenerative." Some of it matters. Some of it's being oversold.

This week's brief breaks down:

🥩 A new $500M fund for small/mid-size beef processors — packers excluded
🧪 A $500M fertilizer program that won't lower your feed store prices anytime soon
📋 A new USDA complaint portal for producers facing federal overreach
👷 The biggest farm-labor bill in 40 years (not law yet — but watch it)
🌱 The "regenerative ag" executive order everyone's celebrating — and why the word itself is the real story

Plain-language, honestly sourced, no hype either direction. Because staying informed is its own kind of self-reliance.

📖 Full brief on the substack—comment JULY and I’ll send it straight to you.

If there's one herb worth learning this year, let If there's one herb worth learning this year, let it be yarrow.

It looks like a common weed along the tree line and field—but the Lord tucked an entire medicine chest inside this single flower.

Here's your basic rundown on yarrow (Achillea millefolium):

🌿 Stops bleeding + heals wounds—its most famous use, carried into battle since the days of “Achilles”
🌿 Reduces fever by helping the body sweat it out (diaphoretic)
🌿 Clears excess mucous at the onset of a cold or flu (anti-catarrhal)
🌿 Aids digestion—a bitter herb that stimulates stomach acid and saliva
🌿 Anti-inflammatory + anti-spasmodic for aches and cramping
🌿 A mild sedative that eases anxiety and supports sleep
🌿 Antimicrobial—studied against bacteria like E. coli
🌿 Traditionally used for pneumonia, rheumatic pain, and hemorrhage

⚠️ A few cautions: don't use yarrow until the end of pregnancy (it can cause uterine contractions), don't take it longer than 2 weeks at a time, and know it can lower blood pressure if you're already on medication for it.

"He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man." — Psalm 104:14

Herb for the service of man. He didn't hide our healing behind a prescription counter — He set it growing free in the fields, waiting for hands willing to learn.

That's what empowerment really is. Not fear. Just knowing what grows beneath your feet and how to steward it for the people you love.

On the blog I've written it all out — how to grow and harvest yarrow, every medicinal use, the full safety notes, and my simple tincture recipe so you can keep it on your shelf year-round.
Go learn your yarrow, friend. Then go teach it to your children.

🌿 For the full post + tincture recipe comment YARROW and I’ll send it to your inbox.

We were endowed with inalienable rights by our Cre We were endowed with inalienable rights by our Creator. Yet it’s hard to fathom that we live in a country where you are considered a tenant, not an owner, of your property. If you don’t pay personal property taxes, your land will be taken from you.

There are many reasons why it’s hard to look at America and wonder how we got to where we are today. How a nation that was once so free is now so arguably not. And yet, it is even harder to think that it is still more free than most other nations.

On the 250th birthday of America, may we richly and deeply set with these things in our heart. Freedom must be fought for. It is not something you declare and then hope happens. It is a process of day in and day out, fighting for freedom. Our founding fathers knew this.

Men didn’t just sign a document and suddenly they were free. In fact many of them (and their families) lived lives that were not peaceful. They were ridiculed and persecuted.

Richard Stockton was captured by Loyalists in late 1776 and imprisoned in harsh conditions in New York. His estate, Morven, was looted and occupied. Francis Lewis had his Long Island home destroyed by the British, and his wife was taken prisoner and treated harshly. Abraham Clark had two sons captured and held on the notorious British prison ship HMS Jersey, where conditions were deadly. He reportedly refused to recant his signature even when it might have improved their treatment. John Witherspoon—the only clergyman signer—lost his son James, killed at the Battle of Germantown (1777). Rutledge, Heyward, and Middleton were captured when Charleston fell in 1780 and held as prisoners of war before being exchanged. John Hart had his farm raided and had to flee; his health was already failing and he died in 1779.

These men fought for freedom. They knew the price they had to pay. The question today—250 years later—is this….

How willing are you to fight for freedom?

May God direct this nation in the days ahead. May we never forget that it is only by His hand that we are free. And may we all understand that there is a much greater kingdom to be a part of, with a king that rules forever, and His name is Jesus.

God
There was a time I thought I didn’t like blueberri There was a time I thought I didn’t like blueberries.

Turns out I just hadn’t had a fresh one yet — picked right off the bush, tart and popping, holding its shape instead of turning to mush. Now? I’m a fresh blueberry cobbler kind of woman.

This one’s from scratch—a sweet biscuit topping over blueberries that release all their color and juice as they bake.

No canned filling required (though I won’t judge you if that’s the season you’re in—I have a recipe for that, too!). Serve it warm with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream and you’ve got the best summer treat on the planet.

It’s easy, it’s humble, and it tastes like the kind of evening where nobody’s in a hurry.

Sometimes—in the midst of all of the churchy thing Sometimes—in the midst of all of the churchy things and rules and taught beliefs—I think we forget this verse. Actually, we forget a lot of verses. In fact, we forget to think with the mind of Christ, often, and instead think on how other people did and do things.

I am noticing the beginning of a peak in the body of Christ right now. The church has entered into a new era. She becomes more and more turned towards and into the image of Jesus. And this next reformation has already begun.

If you aren’t in it, you won’t see it. If you aren’t talking to leaders within the church, you won’t understand it. But here’s what we are going to see, and are already seeing. We are beginning to see a great push back on what God is doing, from some of the least likely of places.

Some of the high capacity leaders that I have followed for years have suddenly decided to grasp hold of the last bit of the tradition of man instead of shed it off. We are beginning to see an unnecessary attack on home churches, small groups, and movements of the church outside of the four walls of a building. From places you wouldn’t have expected.

And the religious spirit calls it “rebellion”. Don’t get me wrong, there is rebellion. But we cannot broad stroke everything as rebellion. Isaiah said it best, “do not call EVERYTHING a conspiracy.”

Our family has been on an extended sabbatical from traditional church since November of last year. We host fellowship dinners at our home every weekend. I have intentionally poured more into people—new believers, non-believers, leaders, pastors, elders. And I have been poured into, too. Proximity matters.

And when I read this verse, for this season we are in, it resonates with me. After telling Yeshua all the things we’ve done, He says “come away to a deserted place, and rest.”

With Him. With a small group. With the circle of friends and co-laborers.

The backbone of the next reformation of the church is being set on the small pillars in the community that are being firmly rooted through covenant friendship and leadership so that growth can be sustained again. Be careful not to despise it. Instead, pray into it. Yahweh
