When the”New” Internet Takes Over

August 1, 2023 · In: devotional, homesteading

As I sit here writing this in the year 2023, I still find it hard to believe how our world currently looks. If you had asked me ten years ago what the world would look like right now, I certainly wouldn’t have said this. And yet, it’s not surprising in the least bit.

But instead of wasting my time talking about the woes of current society, I challenge you to walk through this post with me with eyes wide open and a mind that is understanding. Because what you’re going to hear is a trumpet cry—something is coming, and we need to have a hard talk.

Anyone who reads this post won’t be able to walk away saying “no one told me”, because I’m here to tell you. It is my duty to sound a warning call, and I hope you heed it.

The next seven years on this earth are crucial, and you’re about to find out why. It’s all hands on deck. We don’t have time to play house anymore. The clock is about to run out. It’s not fear mongering, it’s the truth you need to hear. And I’m here to share it with you because I feel the strong drawing of the Holy Spirit to prepare people for more than just growing their own food.

The New Internet & Going Dark

Last week the creator of AI ChatGPT, Sam Altman, released a trial run of several things. The first thing was his creation called the “orb”. This creation scans the iris of your eye to verify your identity. The word “verify” is the new thing. In fact, AI’s job is to verify in every way. It has been collecting information about you since the early 2000’s whether you’ve agreed to it or not. When you use the internet, you submit to implied consent.

Implied consent is consent which is not expressly granted by a person, but rather implicitly granted by a person’s actions and the facts and circumstances of a particular situation. –Wikipedia

Altman’s goal is to create a brand new internet. An internet that you cannot be a part of unless you are completely verified. This is where his orbs come into play. He also released WorldCoin. What is WorldCoin? Glad you asked…

Worldcoin aims to establish universal access to the global economy regardless of country or background. It is designed to become the world’s largest human identity and financial network, giving ownership to everyone. All with the intention of welcoming every person on the planet and establishing a place for all of us to benefit in the age of AI. —worldcoin.org

Facebook, Instagram, and other apps have been rolling out verification for years. You may remember that there was a big kurfluffle as to whether or not people should paid for a verified badge or not. When asked to verify yourself, private individuals have to send in a copy of their license. Businesses can send in a copy of their articles of organization.

In the grand scheme of things, those verification processes mean nothing. It is just tailoring the world to look for “verified” people. I have a verification badge, but only because I know what’s coming. And what’s coming is this—one day, I won’t have the internet anymore, and I need to get this message out.

We have reached a crucial time in history when it is our duty to sound the last trumpet before the people who truly have a good voice go dark online. The main goal of the powers-that-be is to truly silence goodness. Mostly, Goodness with a capital “g”. God knows this, and if you really sit back and pay attention, you will come to understand that He has been preparing His people for this all along. This is the moment. This is the time. And the next seven years are all hands on deck. It’s time for us to finish strong.

Homesteading and the church have always gone hand-in-hand. You almost cannot have one without the other; not during this day and age. But for those who are Christians, I need your ear the most, because your communities need your grace and understanding.

If your business is online.

If your entire livelihood is based on the internet.

If your structure to reach our local community is online based.

You will be shut down if you do not submit to verification with palm or iris scans when this releases years down the road. This is a completely different verification than submitting your driver’s license to a company—considering companies can get your information fairly easily from an online search if they want to. This is ultra-personal. This is your personal stamp, because no palm or iris are the same. This is the final step, other than offering up your blood DNA.

But hear me clearly—this objective has begun, and it will more than likely not be stopped. We know that the Great Reset is scheduled to roll out in 2030. They will keep that timeframe, and this is the beginning of it all.

A verified world through DNA and body scans. The only people allowed on the internet are those verified. Yes, the entire internet. This means no Facebook marketplace for you. No more farm website to sell herdshares and whole chickens. No more surfing Pinterest for home decor ideas (unless apps have their own personal non-verified options). This is it. This is how they shut down those who build from a place of conviction and a homesteading lifestyle.

It means no more substack for you to read when I have something witty or spiritual to share. It means no more herbalism course for you to learn from. It means no way to market and promote the Homesteaders of America conference each year. It means no way for you to buy online tickets. It means no back up plan for a weekly newsletter to your email inbox, because that’s part of the internet too.

I won’t be here. Many of us won’t be here. We’ll live in a world where we have every way possible to communicate with someone, but we won’t be allowed to use it unless we’re verified.

It will go into our stores and our banks.

So what now? Where will your income derive from? How will you communicate with your clients and customers? How will you preach the gospel? How will you keep up with your extended family? How will you learn about gardening and homesteading? How will you survive with no ability to access your cash at the bank?

They’ve tried this already, friends. Remember, if you were “non-essential”, you weren’t allowed to travel in 2020. And if you didn’t receive the “you know what”, you lost your job or were forced to quit. Don’t believe for a minute that I’ve lost my mind—I’ve simply found it.

I love this quote from Revivalist Smith Wigglesworth, where he says,

“Divine wisdom will never make you foolish.
Divine wisdom will give you a sound mind.”

–Smith Wigglesworth

I truly believe the Lord has shown what’s coming to many believers, myself included, so that we can tell others to prepare now. There is so much more to this story, but this is the part I feel burning inside of me to tell you. Maybe you, too, have had your own personal experience with the Lord showing you what’s to come. If so, don’t fear it. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Fear Him, not this world. And when we have fear and reverence for Him, He will direct our steps.

So this is me preparing you, and encouraging you to start taking the next steps, now.

So, What’s Next?

Before you consider what your next steps are, you need to stop and pray. If we truly believe that God is Who He says He is, then we know that His Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, all around us, and and even rest on us. If you are a true believer in Christ, it is absolutely crucial that you get into the presence of God, daily, and be so close to Him that you know His voice, without a doubt. A five minute prayer before bed will not work. God sacrificed for us, the least we can do is give Him more of our time. Not just for Him, but also for us.

Discernment will be important in the coming days, weeks, and years. Stay close to the Shepherd.

Do not make any decisions rooted in fear of this world. Do not make any decisions rooted in the fear of the unknown. These are foolish decisions. Seek His wisdom and direction, and the Holy Spirit will absolutely give it to you. But also, He will surround you with people who will also speak life into you.

First, it is extremely important over these next few years to get your house in order. Spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

Next, it is extremely important to cultivate some kind of food source for you and your family. If you have some land and can grow food, that’s great. If that is your desire and you’re looking for land, hold onto that promise. God has something for you. If you have no desire to move and feel God has placed you in the city, don’t worry, He has a plan for you too. But still, cultivating your food source is crucial, and you should begin getting all of your food locally from a homesteader or farmer.

After this, remember that this isn’t just about you and your family. There is a broader plan here, and you can use it to your advantage.

If you have a productive homestead or farm, and you have the ability to feed more than just your family, you may consider this as an income opportunity. From there, reach deep into your community over these next few years to cultivate relationship through phone calls, texts, and meet ups with your customers and potential customers. Your best customers are your neighbors. Share your heart with them, and help them cultivate their local food source through you.

You’ll quickly find that you can fill their needs while they fill yours—food and income without internet.

Maybe you don’t want the farm to be super productive so you can sell your goods. What about skills? Could you be a teacher of these skills? Could you offer a trade to others? What do people know you for and as? If they know you are skilled in something and all they have to do is pick up the phone to call you, you once again are providing a service that also benefits you without the internet.

You see where I’m going with this, and I think you can take it from here for your individual life and family.

As for the body of Christ, this is your time to shine. Building the kingdom physically and Spiritually is crucial right now. Use discernment. Begin cultivating your church community around you. Help your church cultivate its own community, that then breaks out into smaller communities that will depend on each other and help one another.

Most importantly, become a friend of God. Dwell with Him. Allow Him to refine you. Talk to Him. Let Him speak to you. Let Him burn up any impurity in your life, especially pride. Allow Him to teach you how to love people, because you’re going to need a lot of love, mercy, and grace in the coming years.

It is not about self-sufficiency. It is about building His kingdom. That’s what it’s always been about. It has always been about servanthood. God always prepares a place for His remnant before they need it. And the homesteading movement is steadily being used to create a modern day Goshen.

Do not be confused, His remnant is Israel. But as of today, ten of those tribes of Israel are still scattered throughout the earth, and must return to Israel before His return. Likewise, saved Gentiles (like most of us) are grafted into the Body. We still play a major role in this. And let’s not forget Psalm 91 that says “he who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” As it goes on to say that He is our refuge and of our fortress, and He will keep us safe through it all if we ABIDE in Him. Remember, I wrote about abiding in Him in this post recently.

25 As He says also in Hosea:

“I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
26 “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.
28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

29 And as Isaiah said before:

“Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,
We would have become like Sodom,
And we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

ROMANS 9:25-29

The question is, are you ready? Are you ready to do the hard work to prepare? Do not prepare in vain—but in joy. Joy that God loves us enough to give us this warning. That God loves us so much as to knit so many of us together in physical communities so we can depend on Him and one another. Do you know how many people are being uprooted and physically moved to other places this year? Especially to homesteads and farms. It is not a coincidence, friends.

I encourage you, no matter where you live or what you believe, heed the call. The trumpet is blowing, and now it’s time to act. What will you do? Will you take it seriously? Or will you turn back to look just as Lot’s wife did?

Something is coming. God knew it. God has been preparing for it for as long as the forces of darkness have been planning it. And God always wins. Always.

This is your reminder to become a student of the w This is your reminder to become a student of the word, not just a hearer. You can sit in church your entire life and hear someone preach, but that is not the same as doing deep dives into the word yourself. That feeling when you read and a thought pops into your head “what does that mean?” Priceless. The thread begins to unravel as you research and try to understand more.

One of those things for me this week has been studying Melchizedek. If you were to only read the Old Testament account of Melchizedek, there wouldn’t be much to know. But combined with the New Testament, and the ancient writings and documentation of this incredible “king”, the picture becomes more clear.

It becomes most clear in Hebrews, as the writer begins to unpackage the parallel of Melchizedek and Jesus—both high priests appointed by God. But interestingly, Melchizedek was a high priest centuries before the levitical priesthood was ever established. This is why scripture says that “Levi was still in the loins of Abraham”, and Melchizedek existed long before Levi was even born or established as priestly.

God has had me sitting in Genesis for a few weeks. It’s a book we feel like we know well, but until we dive deeply into it, do we know it well, or do we know it how someone else taught it in that one hour Sunday sermon 10 years ago? I’ve sat in Genesis for 2 weeks now and I’m barely halfway through.

It may seem unimportant—what does Melchizedek matter to Christian’s now? Why do Adam, Noah, and Abraham’s covenant matter now? But they matter greatly. Because they are mirrored in the New Testament church—the priestly kingdom that God established. If you don’t understand Melchizedek, and the fact that he was before and outside of the established tribes of Israel, and appointed long before that, then you won’t understand the correlation between a religion of tradition versus a relationship and worship in freedom.

It is not the levitical priest that Jesus is compared to—it is the priest of the order of Melchizedek. And that’s important. It’s important in how we believe, how we perceive, and how we advance and take dominion.

I hope to write deeply about this soon.
There are a lot of new faces here over the last we There are a lot of new faces here over the last week due to a post that went semi-viral (about Yahweh calling back the shepherds). So I thought I’d take a minute to introduce myself, since so many of you followed me from content that is only a part of what myself and this page is about.

My name is Amy. I am first and foremost, unapologetically, a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ. That fact motivates and touches every single other aspect of who I am and what I do.

I am secondly a wife and mother (of 4). I’ve been married to my best friend for almost 21 years. We have seen just about every high and low, and came out stronger on the other side every single time. We walked through 9 years of secondary infertility, and suddenly God healed me and we welcomed 3 more littles to the crew in less than 7 years. Naturally.

I grew up Baptist in the early years, then Pentecostal/charismatic. Now—I just follow Jesus. I’ve seen it all—the religion/tradition (on both sides), the good/bad/ugly, the miraculous.

My career was in media/newspapers/marketing before 2016. Then in 2016 I founded an organization called @homesteadersofamerica — where we teach people (and the kingdom) to take back the land, food and health system, the home, government and more. We are building the parallel system to the broken one. We’ve maxed out our annual October event at the current venue—6,000+ people each day.

We host the @homesteadrevivalnow events at our October event, where people encounter the Spirit of God, receive baptism and salvation, are encouraged by the word, and equipped to keep going.

And most recently we started @thechurchstorehouse , where we are equipping the body of Christ and helping others start gatherings, church plants, refine their current church set up, and build places of refuge for times ahead.

I’m a worshipper, entrepreneur, have lead in the church and churches, master herbalist, milk maid, author, coffee lover.

Those are just the cliff notes.

Welcome to my corner of the internet. I pray it encourages, motivates, and spurs you on towards the everlasting goal of the kingdom. ❤️‍🔥
We’ve reached that time in the summer where it’s a We’ve reached that time in the summer where it’s almost fall but still hot outside. And we just need to see a glimpse of autumn showing up in our coffee!

So I’m just over here not using commercially processed creamers and instead using raw cream and infused maple syrups!

I highly recommend @highlowfarm ‘s vanilla and cinnamon infused syrups, @shepherdscrookcoffee for all your farm coffee needs, and don’t forget that @showalterhomeandforge copper cream ladle 😍

You CAN buy and support your local homesteaders in EVERY way! Check out some of these folks at their vendor booths at the October @homesteadersofamerica conference!
The Senate farm bill got shut down in committee. 1 The Senate farm bill got shut down in committee. 10–11. Party line. Shocker! It’s only 🙄 been since 2018 that we could pass an actual farm bill.

Heres what happened:

The Senate Ag Committee met Thursday to mark up the Agricultural Act of 2026—Chairman Boozman’s “Farm Bill 2.0.” Two Republicans were absent: McConnell, recovering from “illness”, and Tuberville, unexplained. Their proxy votes didn’t count. Democrats voted as a bloc. It failed to advance.

The sticking point wasn’t corn, cattle, or conservation. It was SNAP—specifically, how long states get before they start paying a share of benefit costs. Boozman says one year is the most leadership will accept. Klobuchar says two. That’s the standoff. Ridiculous considering this is all because there is so much corruption in the SNAP aid program.

Sit with that a minute. The last full five-year farm bill was signed in 2018. Everything since has been extensions and provisions stapled onto spending bills. And what’s holding up credit access, crop insurance updates, more food freedoms, and FSA loan limits is a one-year versus two-year phase-in on a nutrition program. For real?

What it means for you: nothing changes tomorrow. Programs keep running under existing authority. But “nothing changes” is exactly the problem when input costs, land prices, food access, and rates have moved this much since 2018. Uncertainty is a cost. You just can’t put it on a balance sheet.

Boozman recessed the committee rather than adjourning—a signal he means to vote again in September. Even if it clears then, it needs 60 on the floor. Without a SNAP deal, it doesn’t have them.

The lesson underneath all of it: don’t build your food security on a bill. Build it on your ground, your neighbors, and your skills. Legislation is worth watching. It was never worth waiting on.
I have personally wrestled with the Lord over this I have personally wrestled with the Lord over this topic for months.

Earlier this year, someone asked why we were still hosting fellowship dinners at our home.
My answer was simple:
“Because I refuse to let the sheep scatter again.”

We have watched people leave churches wounded, lonely, and without accountability. Some find healthy places to land. Others simply go through the motions while still feeling empty and unseen.

And it grieves me. More importantly, I believe it grieves Jesus.
Recently, I finally said to a friend, “I think I need to write this out. God is calling back the shepherds.”

And not in the way you may think.

The word translated as “pastor” in the New Testament is poimēn.

It means shepherd.
Not platform speaker.
Not church-building manager.

Biblical shepherds lived among the flock. They knew the sheep by name. They found food and water, recognized danger, fought predators, rescued the wandering, and understood when it was time to move.

They were gentle, but they were not fragile.
They carried lambs, but they also fought lions and bears.
The rod was not used to beat the sheep. It was used to fight off predators.

The staff was not used to control them. It was used to guide and rescue them. And when the wolf came, the shepherd stayed.

Somewhere along the way, we reduced shepherding to preaching a sermon and managing an institution. But biblical shepherding was always more intimate, costly, discerning, and involved than that.

I believe the Lord is about to (or already is beginning to) reform the ministry of the shepherd within the Body of Christ. And do not be surprised when those shepherds do not look the way the religious institution expects.

They may be farmers, homesteaders, mothers, fathers, or people who are perceived as rough around the edges. They may never stand behind a pulpit.

But they will gather around tables, dwell among the people, protect the flock, confront the wolves, and refuse to let the sheep scatter again.

He is calling back the shepherds.
