When the”New” Internet Takes Over

August 1, 2023 · In: devotional, homesteading

As I sit here writing this in the year 2023, I still find it hard to believe how our world currently looks. If you had asked me ten years ago what the world would look like right now, I certainly wouldn’t have said this. And yet, it’s not surprising in the least bit.

But instead of wasting my time talking about the woes of current society, I challenge you to walk through this post with me with eyes wide open and a mind that is understanding. Because what you’re going to hear is a trumpet cry—something is coming, and we need to have a hard talk.

Anyone who reads this post won’t be able to walk away saying “no one told me”, because I’m here to tell you. It is my duty to sound a warning call, and I hope you heed it.

The next seven years on this earth are crucial, and you’re about to find out why. It’s all hands on deck. We don’t have time to play house anymore. The clock is about to run out. It’s not fear mongering, it’s the truth you need to hear. And I’m here to share it with you because I feel the strong drawing of the Holy Spirit to prepare people for more than just growing their own food.

The New Internet & Going Dark

Last week the creator of AI ChatGPT, Sam Altman, released a trial run of several things. The first thing was his creation called the “orb”. This creation scans the iris of your eye to verify your identity. The word “verify” is the new thing. In fact, AI’s job is to verify in every way. It has been collecting information about you since the early 2000’s whether you’ve agreed to it or not. When you use the internet, you submit to implied consent.

Implied consent is consent which is not expressly granted by a person, but rather implicitly granted by a person’s actions and the facts and circumstances of a particular situation. –Wikipedia

Altman’s goal is to create a brand new internet. An internet that you cannot be a part of unless you are completely verified. This is where his orbs come into play. He also released WorldCoin. What is WorldCoin? Glad you asked…

Worldcoin aims to establish universal access to the global economy regardless of country or background. It is designed to become the world’s largest human identity and financial network, giving ownership to everyone. All with the intention of welcoming every person on the planet and establishing a place for all of us to benefit in the age of AI. —worldcoin.org

Facebook, Instagram, and other apps have been rolling out verification for years. You may remember that there was a big kurfluffle as to whether or not people should paid for a verified badge or not. When asked to verify yourself, private individuals have to send in a copy of their license. Businesses can send in a copy of their articles of organization.

In the grand scheme of things, those verification processes mean nothing. It is just tailoring the world to look for “verified” people. I have a verification badge, but only because I know what’s coming. And what’s coming is this—one day, I won’t have the internet anymore, and I need to get this message out.

We have reached a crucial time in history when it is our duty to sound the last trumpet before the people who truly have a good voice go dark online. The main goal of the powers-that-be is to truly silence goodness. Mostly, Goodness with a capital “g”. God knows this, and if you really sit back and pay attention, you will come to understand that He has been preparing His people for this all along. This is the moment. This is the time. And the next seven years are all hands on deck. It’s time for us to finish strong.

Homesteading and the church have always gone hand-in-hand. You almost cannot have one without the other; not during this day and age. But for those who are Christians, I need your ear the most, because your communities need your grace and understanding.

If your business is online.

If your entire livelihood is based on the internet.

If your structure to reach our local community is online based.

You will be shut down if you do not submit to verification with palm or iris scans when this releases years down the road. This is a completely different verification than submitting your driver’s license to a company—considering companies can get your information fairly easily from an online search if they want to. This is ultra-personal. This is your personal stamp, because no palm or iris are the same. This is the final step, other than offering up your blood DNA.

But hear me clearly—this objective has begun, and it will more than likely not be stopped. We know that the Great Reset is scheduled to roll out in 2030. They will keep that timeframe, and this is the beginning of it all.

A verified world through DNA and body scans. The only people allowed on the internet are those verified. Yes, the entire internet. This means no Facebook marketplace for you. No more farm website to sell herdshares and whole chickens. No more surfing Pinterest for home decor ideas (unless apps have their own personal non-verified options). This is it. This is how they shut down those who build from a place of conviction and a homesteading lifestyle.

It means no more substack for you to read when I have something witty or spiritual to share. It means no more herbalism course for you to learn from. It means no way to market and promote the Homesteaders of America conference each year. It means no way for you to buy online tickets. It means no back up plan for a weekly newsletter to your email inbox, because that’s part of the internet too.

I won’t be here. Many of us won’t be here. We’ll live in a world where we have every way possible to communicate with someone, but we won’t be allowed to use it unless we’re verified.

It will go into our stores and our banks.

So what now? Where will your income derive from? How will you communicate with your clients and customers? How will you preach the gospel? How will you keep up with your extended family? How will you learn about gardening and homesteading? How will you survive with no ability to access your cash at the bank?

They’ve tried this already, friends. Remember, if you were “non-essential”, you weren’t allowed to travel in 2020. And if you didn’t receive the “you know what”, you lost your job or were forced to quit. Don’t believe for a minute that I’ve lost my mind—I’ve simply found it.

I love this quote from Revivalist Smith Wigglesworth, where he says,

“Divine wisdom will never make you foolish.
Divine wisdom will give you a sound mind.”

–Smith Wigglesworth

I truly believe the Lord has shown what’s coming to many believers, myself included, so that we can tell others to prepare now. There is so much more to this story, but this is the part I feel burning inside of me to tell you. Maybe you, too, have had your own personal experience with the Lord showing you what’s to come. If so, don’t fear it. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Fear Him, not this world. And when we have fear and reverence for Him, He will direct our steps.

So this is me preparing you, and encouraging you to start taking the next steps, now.

So, What’s Next?

Before you consider what your next steps are, you need to stop and pray. If we truly believe that God is Who He says He is, then we know that His Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, all around us, and and even rest on us. If you are a true believer in Christ, it is absolutely crucial that you get into the presence of God, daily, and be so close to Him that you know His voice, without a doubt. A five minute prayer before bed will not work. God sacrificed for us, the least we can do is give Him more of our time. Not just for Him, but also for us.

Discernment will be important in the coming days, weeks, and years. Stay close to the Shepherd.

Do not make any decisions rooted in fear of this world. Do not make any decisions rooted in the fear of the unknown. These are foolish decisions. Seek His wisdom and direction, and the Holy Spirit will absolutely give it to you. But also, He will surround you with people who will also speak life into you.

First, it is extremely important over these next few years to get your house in order. Spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

Next, it is extremely important to cultivate some kind of food source for you and your family. If you have some land and can grow food, that’s great. If that is your desire and you’re looking for land, hold onto that promise. God has something for you. If you have no desire to move and feel God has placed you in the city, don’t worry, He has a plan for you too. But still, cultivating your food source is crucial, and you should begin getting all of your food locally from a homesteader or farmer.

After this, remember that this isn’t just about you and your family. There is a broader plan here, and you can use it to your advantage.

If you have a productive homestead or farm, and you have the ability to feed more than just your family, you may consider this as an income opportunity. From there, reach deep into your community over these next few years to cultivate relationship through phone calls, texts, and meet ups with your customers and potential customers. Your best customers are your neighbors. Share your heart with them, and help them cultivate their local food source through you.

You’ll quickly find that you can fill their needs while they fill yours—food and income without internet.

Maybe you don’t want the farm to be super productive so you can sell your goods. What about skills? Could you be a teacher of these skills? Could you offer a trade to others? What do people know you for and as? If they know you are skilled in something and all they have to do is pick up the phone to call you, you once again are providing a service that also benefits you without the internet.

You see where I’m going with this, and I think you can take it from here for your individual life and family.

As for the body of Christ, this is your time to shine. Building the kingdom physically and Spiritually is crucial right now. Use discernment. Begin cultivating your church community around you. Help your church cultivate its own community, that then breaks out into smaller communities that will depend on each other and help one another.

Most importantly, become a friend of God. Dwell with Him. Allow Him to refine you. Talk to Him. Let Him speak to you. Let Him burn up any impurity in your life, especially pride. Allow Him to teach you how to love people, because you’re going to need a lot of love, mercy, and grace in the coming years.

It is not about self-sufficiency. It is about building His kingdom. That’s what it’s always been about. It has always been about servanthood. God always prepares a place for His remnant before they need it. And the homesteading movement is steadily being used to create a modern day Goshen.

Do not be confused, His remnant is Israel. But as of today, ten of those tribes of Israel are still scattered throughout the earth, and must return to Israel before His return. Likewise, saved Gentiles (like most of us) are grafted into the Body. We still play a major role in this. And let’s not forget Psalm 91 that says “he who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” As it goes on to say that He is our refuge and of our fortress, and He will keep us safe through it all if we ABIDE in Him. Remember, I wrote about abiding in Him in this post recently.

25 As He says also in Hosea:

“I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
26 “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.
28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

29 And as Isaiah said before:

“Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,
We would have become like Sodom,
And we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

ROMANS 9:25-29

The question is, are you ready? Are you ready to do the hard work to prepare? Do not prepare in vain—but in joy. Joy that God loves us enough to give us this warning. That God loves us so much as to knit so many of us together in physical communities so we can depend on Him and one another. Do you know how many people are being uprooted and physically moved to other places this year? Especially to homesteads and farms. It is not a coincidence, friends.

I encourage you, no matter where you live or what you believe, heed the call. The trumpet is blowing, and now it’s time to act. What will you do? Will you take it seriously? Or will you turn back to look just as Lot’s wife did?

Something is coming. God knew it. God has been preparing for it for as long as the forces of darkness have been planning it. And God always wins. Always.

Infused honeys are one of my favorite herbals to m Infused honeys are one of my favorite herbals to make. Especially when we can use the honey from our own hives, and herbs from our own garden.

Today I’m making a sage infused honey. I would normally use dried herbs for infused honey, because fresh herbs can release a lot of water. But today I’m using fresh sage and will store it in the fridge, or a cool place, since we will use it fairly quickly.

I’m particularly making this infused honey for cuts, scrapes, and wounds because sage and raw honey are both very anti-septic and cleansing. But one of our little ones is getting over a cold, and I’d like to prevent the rest of us from getting it, or at the very least have it on hand if someone gets a springtime cold in the future.

Sage is helpful for colds and fevers. Especially for sore throats and infections. Coupled with raw honey, it becomes a powerhouse herbal remedy. It is also a nerve tonic, which helps support the body in times of stress. Whether you’re sick or simply feeling overwhelmed, sage is an herb that can help the body during these times.

Let’s not make sage a weird thing. The herb sage is very healing and scientifically cleansing. But we aren’t using it in the new age or witchcraft where they believe it cleanses evil spirits and more. We are simply using it for what it does—helps support and heal the body.

Sage, like any other plant and herbal created by God, is given for our use. Let’s redeem this beautiful, aromatic herb and use it the way God intended. Not the way the enemy perverted it.

🌿 HOW TO MAKE IT

Start by filling a jar with fresh or dried sage leaves.
Pour raw honey over the top until completely covered.
Cap and place on a shelf for several days to allow the honey to infuse.
If using fresh herbs, I recommend storing in a cool place or the fridge. Otherwise the honey can start to ferment depending on how much liquid the fresh herbs release.
If using dried herbs, you can leave it setting on a shelf out of the sunlight.

Sage is not recommend for pregnant or nursing mothers. Unless you are a nursing mother that is trying to wean and dry your milk supply. In which case this herb will be helpful.
Insecurities are loud when you aren’t confident in Insecurities are loud when you aren’t confident in your mission. And especially when you don’t know your mission.

Insecurity is rarely quiet—because it has nothing solid to stand on. It makes you feel like you have to prove yourself. That doesn’t mean you are loud on a platform, it means you’re loud with every opinion you have.

When a person does not know their mission, they grasp for identity in other people’s opinions—at its root, it’s the fear of man, and pride. They measure themselves against others, compete where they were never called to compete, and speak loudly to compensate for the absence of clarity.

But Scripture shows us something different.

When a man or woman is anchored in their calling, there is a steadiness about them. Not arrogance. Not passivity. But authority and wisdom.

Confusion breeds insecurity.
But calling produces peace.

If you are constantly striving to be seen, heard, or validated, it may not be a confidence issue—it may be a mission issue.

Because when you know what God has asked of you, you don’t need to be the loudest. You don’t need to prove yourself. You don’t need to chase every opportunity. You know your mission, and you are CONFIDENT in that mission you’ve been given.

You become focused.
Grounded.
Unshaken.

Even Jesus didn’t answer every voice that called out to Him—because He was submitted to the will of the Father, not the noise of the crowd.

“I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father…” (John 5:30)

There is a difference between insecurity and conviction.
One is driven by fear.
The other is anchored in obedience.

So the question is not, “Why do I feel insecure?”
The question is, “Have I clearly sought and submitted to my mission?”

Because once your mission is settled, your voice doesn’t have to be loud—it becomes weighty.
Your calling and my calling look incredibly differ Your calling and my calling look incredibly different. While they may crossover in various places—we are not taking the same steps in every way.

Sometimes I think it’s easy for Christian’s to put one another in a box. I’ve found when this happens, the tradition of man rules. The reality, however, is that while we should stay in the boundaries set by God—we are all intricately and uniquely different.

We follow His blueprint, but we all have a different part to play.

So if I don’t fit into the box you’d like for me to fit into, sometimes that’s not my fault. It’s the ideological thought process that has caused many to think wrongly.

Expand your horizon.

Not every man was created to goto war but every man can be a warrior. Not every man will write like Luke or teach like Paul—but every man can be a teacher in his own way.

The same goes for calling—you and I are called to the great COMMISSION, but our MISSION may look a lot different. And when we come to terms with this, when we accept it fully in the body of Christ, we begin to see every part of the body flourish. We begin to see more advancement.

While I’m over here working with the salt of the earth blue collar kind of people, you may be working with white collar suits and ties. Both are equally important. Both have important roles in the kingdom. And kings and rulers will come to both when the world shakes even more than it is.

I have heard men with deep southern accents preach a simple gospel without a stage and pulpit and cut to the core in less than 15 mins. Likewise, I’ve sat in theological discussions that last hours that I know my more simple friends could never (nor would they want to) sit through.

My goal—be able to teach effectively to both groups, while staying in my lane. Staying in what I’ve been called and anointed to do.

And that’s the difference.

Whatever God has called YOU to do. Do that. Have situational awareness. Be flexible enough to cross over into other lanes to excel foward. But never forget your calling is different than the rest.

Embrace it. It belongs to God, after all. Walk in obedience. Embrace the callings of others. Stop comparing. We’ll get farther this way.
They are your greatest treasure. The jewels in you They are your greatest treasure. The jewels in your crown. And they are not yours at all, when you really think of it. They are gifted to you for a time, and they belong to the Creator of all things. The King Who made you.

Parenting is hard. It takes years and multiple children to finally figure it out. By then the damage may have already been done to the older one(s) and now you try to rebuild. Or maybe you don’t. Maybe you decide to just not even try. But which one do you think is the best option knowing the King entrusted one of His children to you to call your own? Try, and then try again.

If we must become like children to enter the kingdom, how much more important is it to make sure we are intricately involved in every aspect of our own children’s lives?

I remember growing up. It didn’t matter how much someone said they loved me. If I didn’t feel loved in that moment or situation, then in my mind I wasn’t loved. But we eventually move past childhood thoughts into maturity, where we realize that our parents did the best they could do with what they were handed (outside of abuse etc, which is never condoned). And if we use wisdom, we realize we can be better and do better.

Get healed so that you aren’t spending the rest of your life healing your children or wishing you’d done better.

Get healed before your grandchildren come along and don’t want to be around you.

You know how you do that? Sit down with your little ones, and your big ones. Give them hours of your time, not just 30 mins total per day. Have conversations with them like people, not subordinates.

And when little girls ask you to dance in the rain with them—don’t say no.

You are laying the foundation for what your children will expect in their adult lives. If you hand them a controlling parent, they will either look for a controlling spouse, or be one. But if you hand them a calm, authoritative, wise, loving parent (which doesn’t mean a pushover—set boundaries), they will not only look for an authoritative spouse, but they too will walk in authority.

At the end of the day, remember, it’s all about the kingdom.

The King is coming. Will He find us busy for Him, or ourselves?
“19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy “19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state. 20 For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:19-21
