When the”New” Internet Takes Over

August 1, 2023 · In: devotional, homesteading

As I sit here writing this in the year 2023, I still find it hard to believe how our world currently looks. If you had asked me ten years ago what the world would look like right now, I certainly wouldn’t have said this. And yet, it’s not surprising in the least bit.

But instead of wasting my time talking about the woes of current society, I challenge you to walk through this post with me with eyes wide open and a mind that is understanding. Because what you’re going to hear is a trumpet cry—something is coming, and we need to have a hard talk.

Anyone who reads this post won’t be able to walk away saying “no one told me”, because I’m here to tell you. It is my duty to sound a warning call, and I hope you heed it.

The next seven years on this earth are crucial, and you’re about to find out why. It’s all hands on deck. We don’t have time to play house anymore. The clock is about to run out. It’s not fear mongering, it’s the truth you need to hear. And I’m here to share it with you because I feel the strong drawing of the Holy Spirit to prepare people for more than just growing their own food.

The New Internet & Going Dark

Last week the creator of AI ChatGPT, Sam Altman, released a trial run of several things. The first thing was his creation called the “orb”. This creation scans the iris of your eye to verify your identity. The word “verify” is the new thing. In fact, AI’s job is to verify in every way. It has been collecting information about you since the early 2000’s whether you’ve agreed to it or not. When you use the internet, you submit to implied consent.

Implied consent is consent which is not expressly granted by a person, but rather implicitly granted by a person’s actions and the facts and circumstances of a particular situation. –Wikipedia

Altman’s goal is to create a brand new internet. An internet that you cannot be a part of unless you are completely verified. This is where his orbs come into play. He also released WorldCoin. What is WorldCoin? Glad you asked…

Worldcoin aims to establish universal access to the global economy regardless of country or background. It is designed to become the world’s largest human identity and financial network, giving ownership to everyone. All with the intention of welcoming every person on the planet and establishing a place for all of us to benefit in the age of AI. —worldcoin.org

Facebook, Instagram, and other apps have been rolling out verification for years. You may remember that there was a big kurfluffle as to whether or not people should paid for a verified badge or not. When asked to verify yourself, private individuals have to send in a copy of their license. Businesses can send in a copy of their articles of organization.

In the grand scheme of things, those verification processes mean nothing. It is just tailoring the world to look for “verified” people. I have a verification badge, but only because I know what’s coming. And what’s coming is this—one day, I won’t have the internet anymore, and I need to get this message out.

We have reached a crucial time in history when it is our duty to sound the last trumpet before the people who truly have a good voice go dark online. The main goal of the powers-that-be is to truly silence goodness. Mostly, Goodness with a capital “g”. God knows this, and if you really sit back and pay attention, you will come to understand that He has been preparing His people for this all along. This is the moment. This is the time. And the next seven years are all hands on deck. It’s time for us to finish strong.

Homesteading and the church have always gone hand-in-hand. You almost cannot have one without the other; not during this day and age. But for those who are Christians, I need your ear the most, because your communities need your grace and understanding.

If your business is online.

If your entire livelihood is based on the internet.

If your structure to reach our local community is online based.

You will be shut down if you do not submit to verification with palm or iris scans when this releases years down the road. This is a completely different verification than submitting your driver’s license to a company—considering companies can get your information fairly easily from an online search if they want to. This is ultra-personal. This is your personal stamp, because no palm or iris are the same. This is the final step, other than offering up your blood DNA.

But hear me clearly—this objective has begun, and it will more than likely not be stopped. We know that the Great Reset is scheduled to roll out in 2030. They will keep that timeframe, and this is the beginning of it all.

A verified world through DNA and body scans. The only people allowed on the internet are those verified. Yes, the entire internet. This means no Facebook marketplace for you. No more farm website to sell herdshares and whole chickens. No more surfing Pinterest for home decor ideas (unless apps have their own personal non-verified options). This is it. This is how they shut down those who build from a place of conviction and a homesteading lifestyle.

It means no more substack for you to read when I have something witty or spiritual to share. It means no more herbalism course for you to learn from. It means no way to market and promote the Homesteaders of America conference each year. It means no way for you to buy online tickets. It means no back up plan for a weekly newsletter to your email inbox, because that’s part of the internet too.

I won’t be here. Many of us won’t be here. We’ll live in a world where we have every way possible to communicate with someone, but we won’t be allowed to use it unless we’re verified.

It will go into our stores and our banks.

So what now? Where will your income derive from? How will you communicate with your clients and customers? How will you preach the gospel? How will you keep up with your extended family? How will you learn about gardening and homesteading? How will you survive with no ability to access your cash at the bank?

They’ve tried this already, friends. Remember, if you were “non-essential”, you weren’t allowed to travel in 2020. And if you didn’t receive the “you know what”, you lost your job or were forced to quit. Don’t believe for a minute that I’ve lost my mind—I’ve simply found it.

I love this quote from Revivalist Smith Wigglesworth, where he says,

“Divine wisdom will never make you foolish.
Divine wisdom will give you a sound mind.”

–Smith Wigglesworth

I truly believe the Lord has shown what’s coming to many believers, myself included, so that we can tell others to prepare now. There is so much more to this story, but this is the part I feel burning inside of me to tell you. Maybe you, too, have had your own personal experience with the Lord showing you what’s to come. If so, don’t fear it. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Fear Him, not this world. And when we have fear and reverence for Him, He will direct our steps.

So this is me preparing you, and encouraging you to start taking the next steps, now.

So, What’s Next?

Before you consider what your next steps are, you need to stop and pray. If we truly believe that God is Who He says He is, then we know that His Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, all around us, and and even rest on us. If you are a true believer in Christ, it is absolutely crucial that you get into the presence of God, daily, and be so close to Him that you know His voice, without a doubt. A five minute prayer before bed will not work. God sacrificed for us, the least we can do is give Him more of our time. Not just for Him, but also for us.

Discernment will be important in the coming days, weeks, and years. Stay close to the Shepherd.

Do not make any decisions rooted in fear of this world. Do not make any decisions rooted in the fear of the unknown. These are foolish decisions. Seek His wisdom and direction, and the Holy Spirit will absolutely give it to you. But also, He will surround you with people who will also speak life into you.

First, it is extremely important over these next few years to get your house in order. Spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

Next, it is extremely important to cultivate some kind of food source for you and your family. If you have some land and can grow food, that’s great. If that is your desire and you’re looking for land, hold onto that promise. God has something for you. If you have no desire to move and feel God has placed you in the city, don’t worry, He has a plan for you too. But still, cultivating your food source is crucial, and you should begin getting all of your food locally from a homesteader or farmer.

After this, remember that this isn’t just about you and your family. There is a broader plan here, and you can use it to your advantage.

If you have a productive homestead or farm, and you have the ability to feed more than just your family, you may consider this as an income opportunity. From there, reach deep into your community over these next few years to cultivate relationship through phone calls, texts, and meet ups with your customers and potential customers. Your best customers are your neighbors. Share your heart with them, and help them cultivate their local food source through you.

You’ll quickly find that you can fill their needs while they fill yours—food and income without internet.

Maybe you don’t want the farm to be super productive so you can sell your goods. What about skills? Could you be a teacher of these skills? Could you offer a trade to others? What do people know you for and as? If they know you are skilled in something and all they have to do is pick up the phone to call you, you once again are providing a service that also benefits you without the internet.

You see where I’m going with this, and I think you can take it from here for your individual life and family.

As for the body of Christ, this is your time to shine. Building the kingdom physically and Spiritually is crucial right now. Use discernment. Begin cultivating your church community around you. Help your church cultivate its own community, that then breaks out into smaller communities that will depend on each other and help one another.

Most importantly, become a friend of God. Dwell with Him. Allow Him to refine you. Talk to Him. Let Him speak to you. Let Him burn up any impurity in your life, especially pride. Allow Him to teach you how to love people, because you’re going to need a lot of love, mercy, and grace in the coming years.

It is not about self-sufficiency. It is about building His kingdom. That’s what it’s always been about. It has always been about servanthood. God always prepares a place for His remnant before they need it. And the homesteading movement is steadily being used to create a modern day Goshen.

Do not be confused, His remnant is Israel. But as of today, ten of those tribes of Israel are still scattered throughout the earth, and must return to Israel before His return. Likewise, saved Gentiles (like most of us) are grafted into the Body. We still play a major role in this. And let’s not forget Psalm 91 that says “he who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” As it goes on to say that He is our refuge and of our fortress, and He will keep us safe through it all if we ABIDE in Him. Remember, I wrote about abiding in Him in this post recently.

25 As He says also in Hosea:

“I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
26 “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,
‘You are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

27 Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.
28 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness,
Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”

29 And as Isaiah said before:

“Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,
We would have become like Sodom,
And we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

ROMANS 9:25-29

The question is, are you ready? Are you ready to do the hard work to prepare? Do not prepare in vain—but in joy. Joy that God loves us enough to give us this warning. That God loves us so much as to knit so many of us together in physical communities so we can depend on Him and one another. Do you know how many people are being uprooted and physically moved to other places this year? Especially to homesteads and farms. It is not a coincidence, friends.

I encourage you, no matter where you live or what you believe, heed the call. The trumpet is blowing, and now it’s time to act. What will you do? Will you take it seriously? Or will you turn back to look just as Lot’s wife did?

Something is coming. God knew it. God has been preparing for it for as long as the forces of darkness have been planning it. And God always wins. Always.

Some of the holiest work you’ll ever do will never Some of the holiest work you’ll ever do will never trend online.
It won’t be standing on a stage. It won’t be gaining followers. It won’t be building a platform or hearing applause.

It might look like pulling weeds before the sun comes up while your children still sleep. It might look like teaching someone to bake bread, praying over a sick neighbor, fixing a broken fence, or carrying another burden that no one else even notices.

The Kingdom of God has always advanced through ordinary acts of faithful obedience.

Noah built.
Ruth gleaned.
David tended sheep.
The disciples mended nets.

Jesus spent most of His earthly life working with His hands before beginning His public ministry.

We’ve been taught to chase visibility when Scripture continually points us toward faithfulness.

The world measures influence by how many people know your name. Heaven measures it by whether the Father knows your heart.

So plant the garden.
Raise the children.
Visit the widow.
Read the Word.
Milk the cow.
Teach the skill.
Share the meal.
Open your table.
Keep doing the quiet work.

Because one day you’ll realize those hidden moments weren’t interruptions to your purpose—they were your purpose all along.

The greatest harvests are almost always growing underground long before anyone sees green above the soil.

🌼 FEVERFEW (Tanacetum parthenium) I keep finding 🌼 FEVERFEW (Tanacetum parthenium)

I keep finding these little volunteer feverfew plants all over my garden, and I love it.

For centuries, feverfew has earned a place in apothecaries and cottage gardens alike. With its cheerful daisy-like flowers and aromatic foliage, this member of the Asteraceae family has long been valued as a medicinal herb throughout Europe and beyond.

🌿 Botanical Name: Tanacetum parthenium
🌿 Common Names: Feverfew, featherfew, bachelor’s buttons (regional)
🌿 Family: Asteraceae (Daisy Family)
🌿 Parts Used: Primarily the leaves and flowering tops, used fresh or dried.

Historically, herbalists reached for feverfew to support the body in a variety of ways:

🧠 Headache & Migraine Support
Perhaps feverfew’s best-known traditional use is for recurring headaches and migraines. Researchers have identified compounds such as parthenolide, a sesquiterpene lactone that may influence inflammatory pathways and vascular function, making feverfew one of the most studied herbs for migraine prevention.

✨ Inflammatory Support
Traditional herbalists often used feverfew to help calm inflammation throughout the body. Modern studies suggest it may modulate inflammatory mediators, though more research is needed to fully understand its clinical applications.

🤒 Fever & Seasonal Illnesses
As its common name suggests, feverfew was historically brewed into teas or tinctures during febrile illnesses. Its long history explains how it received its memorable name.

💃 Women’s Herbal Tradition
Throughout history, feverfew has appeared in folk medicine traditions for menstrual discomfort and cycle support. Because of its potential effects on uterine activity, it is generally not recommended during pregnancy.

🦴 Joint & Musculoskeletal Comfort
Some herbal traditions have used feverfew for occasional joint discomfort and stiffness, particularly when associated with inflammatory conditions.

🍃 Digestive & General Wellness
Bitter compounds within the herb have historically been used to stimulate digestion and support overall gastrointestinal health

I wrote this substack some time ago and then forgo I wrote this substack some time ago and then forgot to finish the series. But it seemed really relevant to share once again. It's the last I'll share on this!

It's one of the most quoted phrases in Scripture—and one of the most misunderstood.
For generations, a single verse has been lifted out of context to build entire doctrines that limit, discourage, or even silence women whom God has clearly called to serve, teach, prophesy, disciple, and lead under His authority. But what if we've been reading Paul's words without reading the entire letter? What if we've missed the historical context, the original language, and the broader testimony of Scripture?
Throughout the Bible, God consistently uses women to accomplish Kingdom purposes. One of the issues is that the American version of church is not the New Testament version and structure.
Deborah judged Israel. Huldah prophesied to kings. Priscilla instructed Apollos. Phoebe served the early church. Anna proclaimed the coming Messiah. Philip's daughters prophesied. At Pentecost, Peter declared that the Spirit would be poured out on sons and daughters, fulfilling Joel's prophecy.
So how do we reconcile those examples with passages like 1 Timothy 2?
The answer isn't found in reading one verse in isolation—it's found in studying the WHOLE counsel of God.
In this article, I take a deep dive into the Greek language behind "authority", "dominion", and "silence," examine the context surrounding Paul's instructions to Timothy, and explore why many common assumptions about this passage deserve a second look. We also look back to Genesis, the design of marriage, mutual submission, and the biblical pattern of accountability within the body of Christ.
The goal isn't to promote cultural trends or modern ideologies.
The goal is to return to Scripture itself.
The Kingdom needs men who sacrificially lead and protect.
The Kingdom needs women who faithfully steward the gifts God has entrusted to them.
If you don't read the whole Book, it's easy to build an entire doctrine on a single sentence.

I have always thought it was so interesting, and s I have always thought it was so interesting, and so telling, when people believe that a woman in a leadership position in the church means she is against men and out of order.

But many of the same people are ok with a woman in leadership in earthly things, like business, and politics.

Here’s the reality, men and women were created completely different. We have different emotions, abilities, and giftings. The men I know that are extremely confident in their manhood and burly in nature will immediately tell you they need a woman to help keep them organized. And the women that are confident in their womanhood and feminity will immediately tell you that they need men to help keep them grounded, logical, and not emotionally driven.

The kingdom was created to be whole—not half.

So when people say things about women in ministry with a broad stroke, it hurts the body of Christ. Because there is neither male nor female, Jew nor Gentile.

There are certainly women who should not be in leadership. I have met many of them. They actually do disrespect men and always think men are out to get them. These are the women that we are warned about throughout scripture and the Early church writings. But that does not give the Church the right to broad stroke women as a whole.

That would be like me saying that men are conniving, aggressive, and mean just because I’ve experienced that from a few men in church. But that would be silly and incorrect, wouldn’t it?

The most healthy church bodies that I’ve been a part of have men as strong leaders with women as complimentary leaders, and never having rule over one another. Who has the final say? Jesus does. Because isn’t that what the church was created to do—seek God in all things? Together?

We must start from the beginning in America. Starting with what the actual early church looked like. When we begin to see that the ministry roles listed in scripture (apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor/shepherd, teacher) were never governing roles (like elders and deacons), we might simmer down a bit and realize this isn’t as hard as the church Pharisees have made it.

Today I have been alive on earth for 39 years. As Today I have been alive on earth for 39 years.

As I prayed myself to sleep last night, it went something like this…

Thank you, Yahweh, for creating me. You knew me before the foundations of the earth, and you knit me together perfectly.

Thank you, Yeshua, for giving me new life in the Kingdom of God.

Thank You for the life partner you’ve given me to call husband—he is irreplaceable. Thank you for blessing me with children that bring me joy. Thank you for the hard times that have taught me how to be content in all circumstances. Thank you for the rebukes that have refined my rough edges (and continue to). Thank you for Your grace that is sufficient for all of my imperfections. Thank You for Your unconditional love when I feel unloveable. Thank You for giving me wisdom and gifts to further Your kingdom.

Thank You for asking me to walk in victory alongside of You in the tasks You’ve put my hands to.

Forgive me when I have doubted and not trusted You.

Help me continue to plow in the direction You’re going. Help me continue to build fertile soil for the seeds to be sown. Show me my blind spots, that they may be rooted up and replaced with new growth.

Thank you for another year on this beautiful place called earth. Teach me Your ways, and Your heart, O LORD. ❤️‍🔥
